Recognizing The Mate Bond Unconsciously

Peter POV 

'Woah!, where the hell are you going to?, what are you doing?' Kyle shouted and I growled back. 

"What do you mean where the hell I'm I going?, didn't you hear her and how she was lamenting on how she hates Lycans. Forget her love, we might not get to know her. So, stop with your useless hopes and day dreams of having her". I asked my wolf, and he scoffed. 

'Yea? What about you?. Don't you hate women?. 

Why did you go and ask her so many questions?. 

 You were the one who went to talk to her and wanted to know more about her, weren't you?. You were the one who dug deeper and wanted to know more and now you you've touched her wound. You could have just observe her silently and given her time, but what did you do?, you suspected her and given how intelligent she is, its no mystery she found out your motives immediately. If this gets ruined, know that it not on anybody but you'. Kyle said and I gritted my teeth as I walk away from Malina and head towards the council. 

'I don't know why she's not able to feel our bond or the spark between us?. Don't you find that a bit strange?, instead of you to do the right thing, you keep  pushing her away with your repellent actions and the harsh words you can think of'. Kyle said and I stopped dead in my track. 

"Wait. Do you think I'm the wrong one here?. All I did was being a little suspicious about how accurate her information was about all this things. 

Yes, I might have gone a little over boars with my words but can't you see the situation here. She hates Lycans and I am the king, definitely shes gonna loathe me". I said and he scoffed. 

'Anyway, we made a bet, remember?. You said you will let me take over for some time and let me do what I want and you won't say anything about it'. Kyle said and rolled my eyes before closing them. 

"Yea. Do what ever you want and stop with this nonsense of yours. I am tired of today's adventure". I said and kept walking to the council. 

'I am glad you know how to keep your word. Apart from annoying your mate, that's one thing you're good at'. He said and I scoffed. 

"What are you doing anyway?. We were just heading back to the council chambers. You could have done this tomorrow if its a run you wanted to go for", I said before squinting my eyes and saw him going back. 

"Wait kyle, why are you going back to where we left Malina?, what are planning to do?, Im asking you a question kyle. Dont just do anything stupid" I said and looked up and saw Malina leaning against a tree, her complexion a bit paler than how I left her. 

Is she hurt?. Did I do wrong by leaving her?. Huh, maybe kyle just want to take her back to the council and why not?, she saved us, after all that. I thought before relaxing as I saw kyle bend down to help our mate and was about to com me t on how crazy he is for our mate and he did something I didn't expect. 

He kissed her. The jerk kissed her!. This shameless wolf!. How dare he!. How I'm I suppose to face her after this, I thought. 

"You rascal!, why did you do that?!", I shouted at him and panic rose in my heart. Although,  I won't lie that the sensation of my lips on hers disnt send shivers down my spine. 

It felt like the best feeling in the world, and  no matter how wrong it was to kiss her like this, I still wanted to do it not once or twice but for the rest of my life. 

Wait. What I'm I thinking?. I need to get out of here.  I thought before shaking my head. 

"I did what I wanted, you can take over now", he said and I took over and I looked at the girl in front of me in panic as she looked at me equally confused waiting for an explanation. 

Now how I'm I going to explain kissing a girl I was shouting at a few moment ago. 

"Are you out of your mind, Mr Peter?. I get you don't know how to say thank you or show gratitude but  this is no way gratitude", she said before sighing, making me widen my eyes as an idea struck me. 

"I'm sorry for leaving you like this, knowing fully well its because of me you got into this position. I just wanted to thank you all together, I'm sorry if I hurt your feeings", I said unsure of my words. 

"Okay, let's go I'm tired", she said before nodding to me and I nodded back at her, afraid that any other word that comes out of my mouth would ruin everything. 

I took a deep breath after I notices she wasn't angry at us or loathe us more than before. After some prep talk, I turned and looked at Malina, who was leaning her head on my shoulder with her eyes closed and for some reason I felt something was wrong as she winced and whimper in my arms. 

"Hey Mal. I know you feel wrong that my wolf, I mean, I kisses you like this, you dont have to cry like this. You are scaring me like this now. Malina are you listening?, Hey don't cry please". I said, and when she didn't open her eyes after a few seconds, I squinted my brows before running to the council chambers. 

"Francis quickly. Where is the medical unit?", I asked and he looked at me with a worried expression before looking at Malina in my arms. 

"What happened?, did she get hurt or something else happened", Francis asked as we rushed to the medical unit. 

"Doctor,  check she was fine few moment ago and was even fighting me, I mean she was perfectly fine but suddenly closed her eyes and started whimping", I said and the doctor looked at me before bowing. 

"Her hand is bleeding black blood. What was she hit with?". The doctor asked. 

"A dagger laced with wolfsbane", I said and panic built up in me. 

"King peter, I will be honest with you. The wolfsbane used on her is rare and based on knowledge, she's suppose to be dead but she's still breathing. I will do my best but just pray to the moon goddess to help her", the doctor said and I felt a bolt of pain hit me. 

"Mal.", Gerald entered the room with a big bang and rushed to Malina bed and I watched how he lifted her head gently and started taking care of her like he was her husband and I felt kyle wanting to come out and tear this guy apart. 

What shocked I and the doctor was how malina started breathing well and the crease between her brows eased out. 

"Umm king peter I don't know what's going on but it seems she's already healing from the wolfsbane, if you ask me, that's is a miracle indeed, for now all she need is rest", he said and both he and Francis left the room, leaving both me and Gerald with Mal. 

"Won't you leave?, Malina doesn't like it when other people see her weak", Gerald said and I squint my brows. 

"She's in this condition because of me. So I'm definitely not going anywhere till she's fine and besides we have something to talk about," I said before holding her hand abs massaging it. 

"King Peter, I understand that you we grateful toalina for saving your  life but she needs rest now, I assure you that ones shes conscious I will let you know first", Gerald said and I was about to tell him I'm not going anywhere and to my utmost shock, Malina moaned slightly before tightening her grip on my hand and the next thing I know she pulled me towards her making me land on the bed beside her. 

I looked at Gerald shocked, not understanding what was going on but judging from the look on his face, he was equally shocked. 

"I am sorry king Peter, I'm sure Mal didn't mean it. She must be dreaming about something severe", Gerald started explaining thinking I was offended by her action but I felt content,  seeing how she trying to get closer to me as she was unconscious and I smiled slightly. 

"Damn she's stronger even when she's unconscious. I think she wants to hold on to me right now. Maybe she wants to hold me accountable for what happened to her", I chuckled before touching her face, a small smile appearing on my face as I saw her smiling. 

'It seems her conscious her can't recognize us but her unconscious self seems to recognize us and that's why her body seeks comfort in our arms' kyle said and I hummed in reply, her cute smile, rendering me unable to move. 

"I don't think you should feel bothered with it King Peter. Its just her old habit", Gerald said and I felt irritated by his voice. 

"I'm not sure that's what she thinks", I said as I showed him my hands that were still gripped by hers. 

"Lets do this. You  go check up on the matter with the rogues and how many things  we confisticated, prepare the list  and everything. I will be with Malina till then" I paused before starting. 

"I am also feeling tired, I already travelled too much today, so I will rest here with malina till She's  fine" I said. 

Gazing between me and malina, he paused on me and was about to say something when I pulled her closer to me, and before he could say any thing, he noticed how malina hugged my abdomen and purred like a cat and I couldn't help but chuckle at her. 

"Then, I will leave her under your control, King Peter", he said, making me nod before he gave Mal one last look before leaving. 

I was ready to turn off the light at the bed side so she could sleep well, when she whispered the a name that made me pause in my action. 

"White Wolf", she whispered, bringing me out of my thought,  and I looked at her with confusion. 

Come to think of it, she threatened some rogues with that name and I'm sure my sister talked about some lady with that name. I thought before looking at the girl who smiled sheepishly and hugged me tighter.
