She Intrigues Me

Peter POV 

She's different, that's the only thing my wolf has been saying since we met her, 'our so-called mate'.

I had never thought I'd meet my mate and had a second look at her. I dislike women and what they have done to me and my kingdom, and I have always thought the first thing I would do when I see my mate was to reject her and give her a load of money to last her for eons. 

I mean, women are all materialistic creature but something about this mate of mine is different. She defy my orders, challenge my authority and most of all she Intrigues me and now I can't seem to reject her. 

Just look at her, who will reject such an impressive she-wolf, her cognitive thinking aside, she is truly a beauty. There is something about her thats worth observing, I want to observe her and know more about her. 

I'm not some pathetic jerk that will reject his mate just because of past experience with other women, for now all I want to do is observe her and see if she's rude and materialistic like the women around me. 

Observing Her!, Yea that was the plan but things are going exactly the way I've planned it all in my head. There are many things that are not only intriguing me but pissing me off. 

I'm not sure if that's the case or not but our mate doesn't recognize us, and kyle is both confused and upset about it. Walking by the hall earlier, I touched her hand by mistake and the moon goddess bares me witness that I felt this shiver down my spine, the  type that made me want to hug her till death do us apart but looking back, she didn't react, judging by her reaction, it felt like nothing happened. 

Apart from her not recognizing us as her mate and her friendship with Gerald, there is nothing detesting in her and that also pisses me off. 

She has been challenging my thoughts and opinion about women, which makes me wonder, maybe all the woman in my past are just demons sent to test me. 

'Stop racking and stressing your brain, she's perfect for us, the perfect Luna', Kyle said and I scoffed as I walked towards the area the intelligent team told us the rogues would be meeting to smuggle in some new technology wolfsbane weapon and ammunition. 

My wolf already like her and she Intrigues me but I'm pretty sure she doesn't have feeling for us, I'm pretty sure she likes Gerald more than us. In fact, I'm sure thr little display I put on in the door path left a bad impression on us. 

Honestly a king doesn't need to handle this  matter by himself, but I want to work with Mal, and win against her. 

"Why do I not see any rogue gathering here or any hint that something will happen so far", I asked the leader angrily. 

'Calm down Peter, its not their fault that our mate doesn't recognize us or like us', kyle said and I sighed before looking at the leader. 

'I'm bot angry because of that, don't you remember she challenged us that she had better information than our highly skilled and trained team', I said and kyle hummed. 

'Look, I dont know how but I believe our mate will win', kyle said. 

'Really kyle?, you are already picking sides, well you are oy doing that because you are whipped for her already', I said as we walked further towards the location. 

'Let's bet, if in any scenario our mate wins, then you will allow me take over and talk to her', kyle said and I hummed. 

"Sir, there is some information about the rogues meeting. It seems they have moved to a new location". A guy on the team said as he looked at me cautiously. 

"You mean to say someone gave out information about us coming right?", I asked while trying to control my anger. 

"That's exactly what happened sir", he said while quacking his boots 

"When did this happen?", I asked coldly. 

"Judging from the faint scent and footsteps, the trackers are guessing it happened two--three hours ago and the new location is probably Cantele lake, he said cautiously. 

The location changed about 3 hours ago and now they are headed to Cantele lake. Didn't we meet our mate there?, And not only did she help catch those wolf's, she brought in the information about this rogues. Maybe she really wants to help us. 

"Everything happened so long ago and you guys are telling me this now, I didn't know my team was so incapable, thanks to you people I will have to suffer some embarrassment later", I said in a very angry tone. 

"We are going to the Cantele lake. Not everyone can accompany me. Let's make plan along the way". I said as we moved towards tge lake. 

Since the Cantele lake wasn't far, we got there in about half an hour and what I saw widened my eyes. Just before me, she tamed some rogues and they did exactly what she asked of them like puppies. 

I was about to take a step when I heard my men speaking wrongly of her and I couldn't help but feel 

a fire burn inside me. 

Even though she brutally murdered some and let the others go, they had no right to speak of her in that manner. She's my mate even if I don't like her at the moment. 

Walking ahead, I teased her a little, liking the way she blushed for a moment before gaining her cool. 

Honestly for a moment, when I saw her looking at me, what I wanted to do at the moment was to run to her and kiss her mercilessly but for someone of my rank that would be embarrassing and wrong, but I couldn't help it. 

"Let's go over the plan first. The rogues will be here any minute from now, and both I and your new leader believe that some rogue spies are in the forest watching us. Let's disperse and camouflage as much as we can. According to our report, there will be 30-40 rogues gathering for theit business and I don't need to remind yoi how to fight them when the time comes. Our main goal is to confisticate all ammunition and new technology wolfsbane weapon with them". I said before I looked at Mal., who had a pale look on her face. 

"Hey are you alright", I asked trying to show some concern and she shook her head. 

"Get ready. They will be here any minute from now", she said and I nodded. 

"You heard her, Get ready", I said before looking at the previous leader who looked like he had something to say. 

"Sir, our trackers said they have spotted some rogues down the west part of the forest", he said and I nodded. 

"Let's go to the west wing", I said to the team and we moved but Malina moved in the north direction. 

"Malina, we are to head in the west direction not the north", I said and she sighed. 

"I say we move in the north direction, Cantele lake itself Is located in the north side of the forest and those rogues you saw in the west direction might be a trap to wipe us out", she said and turned her back. 

"Look woman, I don't care what you think or where you get your information but my trackers a d my team just said they found some rogues down the west wing and you think I should ignore them just because you are what, the earth goddess?", I said to malina as she challenge my authority. 

"I told you from the beginning that I only trust my Instinct, so if you want to go west, be my guest", she said and scoffed. 

"Look, I know you are smart and all but I will not tolerate you defying my authority every time, so we are heading west", I argued. 

"Give me  one good reason why I should drop my plan and follow you", she fired at me again. 

"Because I am the  king and my words are final", I said,  playing the king card and she scoffed. 

"And it should bother me because". She asked rendering me speechless. 

"You", I started and she smiled. 

"Yes me", she said before sighing. 

"I don't think you understand what going on here Mr Dominic. I am not concerned with what you will do to me if I don't go with you to the west wing. I am heading to the north and you can take you team with you, I don't need people who don't trust me to ruin this for me. To you  its just another job for your team to find hidden weapons but for me its different", she said and turned, and for some unknown reason I felt pain in her voice when she said that last part. 

"Malina, wait I'm coming with you, sorry king peter but I will follow her to the north wing, I am sure you will be able to handle the team, I have to be with her, she needs me" Gerald said and left to be with her. 

Gerald placing a hand on her shoulder made her smile, I watched her clean tears from her face and I felt a bolt of pain in my chest. 

"Sir, are we still heading to the west wing?", the leader asked me. 

This would be my first time I'm going against my principle and for a girl that doesn't recognize me as her mate. 

"We are going with Malina, I believe her", I said and the rest of the team moved along. 

Damn it. Its like this mate thing is  driving me crazy.
