Amelia

“Who are you?” I asked.

An unfamiliar man came inside the room. He gestured to me to be quiet by keeping his finger on his lips. He came closer as I was able to notice his olive green eyes, thin lips and visible chiselled chest.

He removed the knots of the ropes I was locked by and whispered in my left ear

“You want to be saved, don’t you?” He said with his lazy deep voice as I kept silent as he untied the ropes and lifted me up by placing his hands on my waist.

It was a kind of strange feeling as I felt his hands on my waist, making me flinch. I felt his cold hands having contact with my warm body. I was sure that his intention to be here was to save me but my only question I had was the reason he is here. Do I know him?

Have we met before?

“No, we met for the first time. He was trying to kill your sister. So I saved her first and then came here.” He showed his hand signalling me to hold his hand. “If you cooperate with me, you can escape from him.”

I nodded and held his hand as he helped me get out of the building and led me somewhere back of the building where I saw a car as my sister waved her hands from inside. We jogged there a bit as we heard an alert sound.

He opened the door for me and I sat beside Evelyn. He closed the door but I held his hands tightly, not letting him move.

“You would be in trouble because of us. Come with us.” I requested him.

He smiled “No, thanks. I can manage somehow. It would be safe as soon as you leave this place.

“He,” Pointing at the man in front of us “Would drive you home safely. Don’t worry about me.” He said.

“Thank you, for your great help. If you were not… .” He interrupted me

“Nothing happened. You’re getting late. Goodbye!”

I felt sad unknowingly as he said ‘Goodbye’ as if it was our first and last meeting.

The chauffeur started to drive and for the first few minutes it was silent.

“Who’s he?” I asked the man.

“Mr. Williams works for you as a secret agent, ma’am.” He said.

“What’s his name?” Evelyn asked inquisitively.

I raised my eyebrows and looked at her.

“Why do you want his name so badly?” I asked her.

She smiled nervously and answered “Amy, it’s not what you’re thinking. I’ve never seen him around us, that’s why I asked him. There are many chances for him working for Noah secretly.”

“As if you took care of the business all these years. You’re right, I’ve never seen him either.”

We both looked at him expecting him to answer.

“Mateo. I have known him since last year. Since he joined to be more clear. He is like a police officer who works secretly and clears problems from our rivals. I heard he is a great hard worker. He is also a young agent out of all.” He explained.

“Ah, last year I got informed that a guy joined us to fill the vacant seat of a secret agent. I also missed meeting him on his first day for approval and dad signed him in instead of me.” I clarified.

“He is handsome by the way.” Her cheeks turned red.

“You always say this after seeing every handsome guy.” I teased her.

“How does he know that we got caught under Noah?” I asked.

“Ma’am, as I said before he is the best employee we have for now and he always checks on you for your safety.” He answered.

“Like a stalker?” Evelyn teased. “Amy, what about you now?”

“What about me?” I looked at her.

She took a small mirror and adjusted it for me to look at my face.

“Look.” She said, I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed that my face was all red. I touched my face to see if it was real.

“What do you mean?” I asked her.

“Your face.”

"My face is normal. What about my face?”

“It’s all red.”

“So what?”

“You’re blushing right now.”

“It’s just normal.”

“Which is? Your face was pale when I saw you at the airport.”

“The temperature is hot.”

“You’re blaming the temperature now.”

 “Yes.”

"Before you said your face was normal and now you admit that your face is red.”

“What do you want?”

"I’ve never seen you blush. Cute.”

“I’ve never been either.”

 “So you admit that you’re blushing.”

  “You!”

 “Alright, I will not tease you. Stop it.” She stopped. We drove home soon.

 “Amelia, Evelyn!” Dad shouted at us.

“Sorry, dad.” I apologise sincerely.

“It was my plan.” Evelyn accepted.

“So what? What would’ve happened if Mateo wouldn’t have checked on you both?” He roared again.

“Alfred, please don’t shout at them. They just wanted to surprise us.” My mother gave in.

“Yes, but the plan went wrong. This will not happen again, Al.” I promised my dad.

He nodded and asked “Promise? Amy, you and Evy are precious to us. If anything happens to you, we would be broken. Do you get it?”

I nodded, “I will make sure I will take care of us.”

“Okay, get ready for dinner. Did you have something to eat at noon?” My mother asked us.

We shook our heads and she smiled.

“You must be hungry. Evelyn, I cooked your favourites today.” I narrowed my eyes “Who told you to cook when there are many maids for no reason?”

She chuckled nervously “Only for today, honey.” We both smiled at each other and went upstairs.

After some time we came down for dinner. We had our dinner with small chats and went to our respective rooms for bed.
