Noah

After an annoying and exhausting meeting, I dashed into my mansion to see nobody. There were no workers, and my parents weren't there. I thought they would be in their respective room so I strolled to my own room. 

I was too stunned that I was emotionless. What I see inside my room was–

A girl. 

She had hazel siren eyes, her upper lip was thinner than her lower one, red hair which was flowing down her shoulder and she was dressed that her upper body and her lower body was revealing. Exactly like a–sexy girl. 

“What–” I struggled but then I changed my tone, “You must be in the wrong house, darling.” The cockiness in my voice was very prominent. 

As she was seated on my work table's edge, she gradually stood straight and walked towards me with a little model walk. Her body upright and confident, she brought my face close to her with her index finger which pulled my chin towards her face. 

“I don't think so, honey.” She said, with a little smug which she had from the first. 

Honey. The word is so relatable with her voice which is bold yet soft and sweet yet salty. 

I didn't give up on my attitude so I stepped towards her. This time, she let her hands fall down her thighs as she stepped back. I kept stepping forward until she hit the nearest wall. 

“Don't you think so, dear? Then let me show you who I am and where you are.” I gripped her neck tightly, making her almost choke to death. 

She struggled to speak and make noise but she tried to remove my hands on her neck and push me away. My tall and strong body would never give her a chance to push me away so easily. Because I'm not easy. 

“Who the hell are you? Why the fuck are you here?” I asked her, keeping my tone aggressive and dominant. 

“First, let– me speak.” She managed to say it somehow. 

I released my hand from her neck and stepped back but I kept my face serious. 

“Well–” she began. 

“You want an explanation, right?” My mother was just standing beside the door, she walked towards us. “I'll give you.”

“Mom, is she here because of you?” I asked her, totally being confused. 

“Yes,” She pulled her to her side and held her arm, “She is going to be your wife in the future. Her name is Rachel Adams. Future CEO of Adams cooperatives.” She remarked. 

She had a wide smile which was kind of annoying to me. 

“I'm sorry, Noah. I should've probably introduced myself to you first.”

“Why do you apologize, dear. He doesn't give interest in girls unlike other guys. So, he would've reacted the same if you weren't here.” My mom said, “Don't mind him.”

Yes, I don't like girls and especially this girl. 

“Who made this decision? I should approve of her as my girlfriend first. But that will never happen.” I strictly said. 

“I'm your mother. You should listen to me. Now, let's have dinner together and that's why I came here to call you.” She took her with her. 

Fuck, I'm already pissed off of what happened at office and now this one. 

“So, Rachel, do you have any plans tomorrow?” She asked her. 

“I'm free tomorrow, why?” Rachel asked back to her. 

“I've booked two tickets for a movie tomorrow. You both will watch the movie together and come back late. Is that fine?” My mom said it as if it was an announcement. 

“I'm so fine with it, Ms. Moore.” she babbled. 

I kept silent. I didn't say a word. Soon after Rachel left–

“What are you even thinking, mom? Can I not have my own choice in this?” My voice raised. 

“You haven't given your choice yet, Noah. You're already 29 and you haven't dated anyone till now.” She held both of my hands as I looked down at her, “We're getting older, son. We can't always be with you. You need someone who cares for you.” She said, her voice soft and gentle. 

Every mother pulls out this technique to convince their children for this type of moment. 

My eyes softened, “I'm sorry, mama. But I'm not ready for it yet.” I declared, “Also, I don't need anybody to care for me when I'm strong enough to do it myself.”

“I'm not going to listen to you this time. Try it once and then give your reasons. Now, you will spend some time with Rachel. She's really kind and sweet.”

She would never listen to me. What to do? She is my mother and I can not disobey her. Never. 

“What happened today? Everything's all right?” I asked Mateo. 

“Everything is going as per our plan. She started showing her soft side to me. Also, I found out that she's unwell because of working overtime.”

My eyes widened, “Huh? What do you mean?”

“Well, it's just Insomnia.” He said, “This is a chance for me to be with her always.”

“Good,” My shoulders relaxed, “Now you might get to know more about her as she spends most of her time with you.” I smirked. 

His face remained still. “Yes, as you say.” 

“What exactly is her problem?” I was worried. 

No, just curious. 

“Sl–Insomnia, as I mentioned already. This is also a secret between us. Now you know it too.” He said. 

Is he hiding something from me? First he was about to say something but then he said something else. Is it just Insomnia or something else? 

Why is Mateo going to lie to me? I shouldn't overthink it. He might be just uncertain.
