Chapter 9

Nicklaus’ POV:

I pulled away and walked outside the front porch. Elena stood by the doorway, and I could feel her eyes on me as I walked. I'm sure I left her feeling confused.

I smirked and bit my lower lips as I stood by the car when my phone started buzzing continuously in my pocket. I picked it up immediately since it was business.

I discussed urgent matters that needed my attention and arranged everything before leaving for my trip. I made sure that all the work was done so that I wouldn't be caught up with a lot of work when I was back from the trip.

I stepped inside the car. Elena entered the car from the other side, and the driver started driving.

I turned to Elena, but she turned her face to the window, avoiding eye contact with me. I could tell I had made her uncomfortable with what I had done earlier.

I smirked a little and looked through my window. I knew the game that I had just played with her, and I knew it wouldn't be easy for her to resist my charms.

I could still remember how beautiful and flawless she looked in her wedding dress. Who would have thought I would be a married man already? Just two days ago, I was out there partying with my friends as a single man, and now I am off the market.

I could perceive the faint smell of her soft perfume when I adjusted my sitting position and sat close to her. Her green eyes sparkled, and she caught me off guard, but I managed to control myself.

I cannot remember the last time I couldn't get my eyes off of a woman. I don't even think it has ever happened to me. I had always been a playboy and had some flings with so many models and expensive ladies, but none of them caught my attention the way Elena is doing right now, and I can't help but wonder why.

I turned my head to her and looked at her again. I realised that she was so beautiful and innocent. My eyes fell on her lips, which made me bite my lips without realising it. They looked so soft and inviting.

My eyes also fell on her tits, and I quickly looked in the opposite direction and watched the moving vehicles in the window. I managed to fill my head with work stuff to distract myself.

For the rest of the drive, I decided to avoid eye contact with her so that there wouldn't be any awkward situation between us.

I reached for my phone and decided to check my emails to keep myself from staring at her. After a few minutes, I finished responding to my emails and then turned to my new wife, but I was shocked to see her slowly drifting to sleep.

She was sleeping so soundly, and she looked peaceful. How could she fall asleep so easily? I wondered. Didn't she get enough sleep last night? For God's sake, it's still morning. I don't like it when I see people taking a nap in the morning. Mornings are for work, not for rest.

I usually get angry at any slight inconvenience, especially when I am with my employees. I always turn into a beast when I see any of them falling asleep or resting, but I can't even get mad at my wife.

The driver took a sharp turn, Elene lost her balance and fell on my chest. I stretched my hands in time to catch her and gently placed her head on my chest so that she wouldn't wake up.

“Drive carefully,” I ordered the driver, and he nodded his head and reduced his speed.

I looked down at her and noticed she was already fast asleep. A little smile tugged at the corner of my lips. I couldn't stop staring at her. My eyes moved to her pointed nose and then her lips.

I slowly guided my hands and moved my fingers on her hair to arrange her messy edge. I laid strands of her hair on her back and adjusted her position on my chest, which made her make a soft sound. The sound made me feel warm.

Her lips looked so soft, and I had already started imagining myself kissing her. Of course, it's with her consent. She is now my wife, and we need to produce an heir immediately. That is the sole purpose of the marriage, of course.

The car came to a stop. "Sir, we are here," the driver voiced out. I shifted my gaze in his direction and looked through the wheel screen. We have arrived at the airport.
