Chapter 96

Elena walked into her room with tears rolling down her cheeks. She couldn't believe what had just happened. Immediately she heard footsteps, and she collapsed on the ground as she sobbed, not minding when it was.

She felt hurt that Nicklaus had visited her again just when she was getting over everything.

She kept sobbing until a gentle voice came from behind. “Elena?” it called.

“Nicklaus I have told you to leave me the fuck alone. Go away!” She shouted.

There was a moment of silence. Immediately, Elena turned around, and she was stunned to see that it wasn't Nicklaus but Alex and Zoey.

She stood up from the floor and walked up to them. “I am so sorry about that. I thought it was him.”

“It's fine, Elena. We saw Nicklaus on his way out. What did he come here for?” Zoey asked, narrowing her eyes.

“Never mind, Zoey. He had chosen his side already.” Elena spoke and kissed her teeth. “It's so good to see you both.?“How are you both doing? She asked.

“We should be asking you that. How are you doing, Elena?” Zoey asked.

Elena didn't say a word.

Zoey stretched his hands to the other side of the bar and reached for Elena’s hand. “You are strong, and I promise you that we are doing everything possible to get out of here,” Zoey assured.

Alex spoke up, "Yes, Elena. We are trying our best. I will make sure that you are set free from this place tomorrow.”

“I wish it was that easy, but it's not,” she spoke. “They have evidence against me, and I don't know how to prove myself that I didn't commit any of those crimes," she explained, with tears gathering in her eyes.

“Don't worry. We have our way. I am a very good lawyer, and I believe that you are innocent, which is why I was using all my sweat to help you, Elena,” Alex said.

“How did you both manage to get in here? I know it is not allowed,”

Alex shrugged. “Well, I know my ways,” he whispered, and they all laughed.

They chatted and discussed as they to her company. She felt happy that she had both of them to hold on to.

“It's time for us to go, Elena. I have a lot of work to do.” Alex spoke. “I need to prepare hard against tomorrow. Take care of yourself, Elena,” he spoke.

“I love you, Elena. Please stay strong for us,” Zoey said. They waved at her, and both left.

Tears filled Zoey's eyes as she remembered Nickoaus.

Sarah paced around the room restlessly. Tomorrow would be Elena’s hearing, and she didn't want any of her plans to be ruined. She just wished that she was already a Coleman and tried to silence her blackmailer forever.

She had been disturbed by the way everything had happened.

Immediately, she got a call from an unknown number, and she picked it up immediately. She knew it was the blackmailer calling.

“Tomorrow is Elena’s court hearing. If you do not want things to go south, bring the money to that same location. Do not play smart, or else you will be the one going to jail.” The person spoke and hung up.

Sarab dressed up and changed into a black trouser, a black shirt, and a black boot. She slipped into a black coat and packed her hair in a messy bun. She was ready to do whatever it takes and take risks.

“I will not want things to go south,” she muttered.

She would go to any length to see that her plans were not ruined. She walked out of the room and went straight into her car.

It was a long drive, and she was alone at midnight. It was getting exhausting. She walked to the spot, scanning the environment, and dropped the money at the spot. She went back into the car, but when she was about to leave, she had a second thought.

She got out of her car and silently hid in the woods. She wanted to see who it was that blackmailed her. She wanted to know who the person with such audacity was.

After waiting for a few hours, she was already dozing off when she heard the leaves rustling. Her eyes widened immediately, and she saw a lady dressed in a black coat, looking around and hurried to take the money.

She silently stood up and picked a heavy wood. She followed the lady silently, and when the lady took the money and was about to take the money, Elena hit her on the head with a big stick.

“Argh…”

Marina shouted and managed to keep her mask stable. Elena reached for the wood again and tried to hit Marina on the head again, but Marina missed it.

Immediately, she gathered the strength to fight Sarah. Sarah fell to the ground and then started to struggle. Sarah gathered the courage to pull off Marian’s mask.

Marian quickly used her hands to cover her face. She didn't want to risk her life. With all of her strength, she grabbed the money and ran away, leaving Sarah alone on the ground.

Sarah sighed and let out a loud groan. “Fuck,” she shouted in disappointment. After some time, she stood up to leave when she realised that she felt a sharp pain in her ankle.

“Ouch,” she winced in pain, closing her eyes and reaching for her ankle. That's when she realised that she had sprained her ankle.
