Chapter 94

Elena’s POV:

I woke up very early in the morning when I heard noises coming from the cell. I had not been able to sleep all night long because I had constant nightmares and I was panting.

I managed to get a little sleep, which was later disrupted. My eyes opened, and our cell was opened.

“All of you, undress and go to the bathroom right now,” the female warden spoke; her voice was loud and stern.

I stripped off my clothes and covered my body with my hands. I was still very shy and wasn't used to prison life.

“That lady is still a newbie. You better get used to it, bitch,” one of the inmates laughed, and the whole inmates started laughing at me.

We went into the bathroom, and I quickly washed up. I brushed my teeth and my hair. It's been a week and I have not had my bath.

Our time was ticking, and I didn't want to be sluggish. I washed up and made sure that my body was cleaned.

It was always busy here, and there was no room for slughishness. The first time I was sluggish, I was already taking a ride.

We changed into a new set of orange wear, and I backed my hair in a sleek bum. I noticed the dark circles and the eyebrows under my eyes. I wasn't feeling great, and I felt like throwing up all morning.

I didn't feel great, but I managed to still be strong. I had managed to eat breakfast even though I felt like throwing up. I forced myself to eat because I knew nobody would come to my rescue and I would just starve myself to death.

I returned to my room and sat there all alone. I thought about Nicklaus and tears started rolling down my cheeks. I wished he could come to see me. I want to be with him. I had missed him so much. I wished I would be vindicated and gain my freedom.

I had learnt to fight for myself here and be strong. Those women had been trying to bully me, but I managed to fight them.

If I had given them the chance, they would beat me up and deal with me.

Every night I live in regret and fear. I didn't know what would become of me as I patiently waited for my court hearing.

Alex and Zoey had been trying their best to see that I was comfortable, and he tried his best to go through this case. He assured me that there had been some mistakes in the allegations, and he assured me that he would prove everything in my court hearing.

I sat there and thought about everything. How shameful my life had become in a twinkle of an eye because of my family, who is my enemy.

I was lost in thoughts when the warden walked up to me and said, “You have a visitor.”

I stood up immediately and followed her with my hands cuffed. I had been expecting to see Alex since tomorrow was my court hearing and trial, but the person I saw made my jaw drop and left me stunned.
