Chapter 92

I turned around, and my mother noticed my facial expression. She signalled me to come over to her study so that we could talk about it.

I hurried and followed her from behind. I gently closed the door behind me, making sure that nobody was in the hallway.

I hurriedly walked to my mother and fixed my eyes on her. She looked at me curiously and gave me a questioning look.

“Speak, Sarah. What is it?” she whispered.

I exhaled deeply and closed my eyes, gathering the courage to speak. “Someone knows about our secret.” I spoke in a low tone.

My mother’s eyes widened, and she looked at me in shock. “What?” she asked, whispering. “How did the person know about it? Do you have any idea?”

“I... I don't know Mother,”

The person called and sent me a picture of the both of us leaving the underground room after our meeting with Mr. Kai. I became scared and panicked. I paid the bastard off, mother, and I shut him up. Just now I got a text from the bastard saying that he knows my pregnancy isn't for Nicklaus.” I spoke.

I stood still as I watched my mother pacing restlessly in the sitting room. I could hear her heels clicking on the tiled floor.

I tried to keep myself out of this situation. I don't want to overreact because we are close to gaining what we have worked for, and that is to become Nicklaus’s wife.

“Ahh!” She groaned loudly and smashed the glass of whisky she held in her hand against the wall. It shattered into a thousand pieces and fell to the ground, which made me flinch.

“How could you be so careless about this?” I screamed. Her voice was loud, and it echoed in the sitting room. “We have to think straight before this person finds out,” she whispered.

"Mother, please calm down. I will make sure I settle this person.” I wish I could know this bastard's identity. I would have gotten rid of him or her without wasting time.

"Sarah, we are this close, and we are about to start planning your wedding. Do you know how everything will be ruined if they find out?”

I shook my head. “Mother, please calm down. I will handle this,” I said in a low tone.

“Don't tell me to calm down. Can't you see I'm on the verge of losing everything we had planned and worked hard to achieve?” she yelled.

I froze at the spot and rubbed my hands on my hair, feeling confused about what to do at the moment.

I walked to my mother and held her hands. “Don't conclude yet. Trust me. I will take care of the person. I will make sure I kill her,” I spat.

I gently approached her and held her hands. “Mother, I need you to stop worrying. Russell will have a change of heart. Now, let's get you upstairs. You seem exhausted.” I spoke.

I managed to convince her, and slowly, she calmed down, and I carefully helped her upstairs to her room so she could have a little rest.

My phone beeped with a notification, and I read through the message. “You can't run away from me. I will make you pay for everything you have done to Elena. $100,000,” the text read.

My heart sank, and I became nervous. For myself and my family. If I don't do anything about this, this bastard will keep extorting money from me. I have to act fast.

At first, I thought it was Mr. Kai, but he didn't know about my pregnancy. Who could have known? Is it Nick?

“I will get rid of you,” I muttered silently under my breath.

"I will be on my way now," I stated as I walked towards the door. My mind was filled with thoughts.

I walked out of the room and descended the stairs. I wondered how I would be able to catch the culprit and get rid of her.

Who could this person be? How do they know so much about me? I will get to the root of this.

I stepped into my car in front of the building and breathed heavily. “I will figure something out,” I muttered silently. “I always find the solution. I just have to wait and see. But I can't sit here and fold my hands. I will trace you.” I spoke

I reached for my phone and dialled a friend's number. “Hi there. Meet me at the bar in 5 minutes,” I spoke.

I turned on the engine and zoomed in off. Immediately, I arrived at the bar and called a friend of mine. He appeared after a short while and sat next to me.

He was dressed in a black hoodie and a black trouser. He had always been mysterious, and I knew I could trust him for all of my dirty plans.

“I need you to help me get rid of somebody,” I spoke. “Name your price.” I was ready to pay any amount to make sure that I got rid of that blackmailer.

My mysterious friend leaned in and smirked. “Sarah, not again, he spoke.

I chuckled lightly. “You have to do this for me.

He nodded his head in agreement. “Tell me all you know about this person.”

I started speaking and described the voice. I didn't know if it was a male or a female because the voice changed. I shared with him the number, and he quickly scanned it.

“This number isn’t registered. It will be very difficult to locate this person. Whenever the number calls. Hit me up immediately. I will know what to do from there,” he said.

I nodded and heard and puffed my cigarettes. I will do just that.” I spoke. I watched him get out of the car, and I zoomed off.
