Chapter 86

Sarah’s POV:

I stretched my body in happiness when I woke up in the morning. The sun's rays rested on my skin, and I had this morning glow and satisfaction.

I felt really great that Elena had been in the police custody. I rolled out of bed and walked into the bathroom.

I slipped into a luxurious pink knee-length gown. I applied bold red lipstick on my lips to go with the dress and packed my hair in a sleep bun that made my face and jawline stand out.

As I admired myself for being classy, I thought about my mother and all of the things we had achieved together.

I smiled at my reflection in the mirror for being my mother’s daughter before grabbing my purse and entering my car.

I arrived after a short time. I walked with confidence into the mansion, straight up to my mother’s room, with my heels clicking on the floor. “Mother, are you ready?” I called out as I walked into the hallway.

My mother walked out of her room with a black dress that flowed on the floor and a black purse.

“Let’s go, darling,” my mother said, immediately after breakfast. “We don't want to be late.”

I had no idea where my mother was taking me, but I followed her without asking questions because she knew how to play her cards right.

After a few minutes, we arrived at a building and packed into the parking lot.

When we entered the building, I noticed we were heading downstairs. The stairs led us downstairs, and it turned out to be an underground room.

We entered a private room with what I figured to be the VIP room. That was a man seated there, and I could recognise him as one of my father's business partners. He is a very powerful businessman.

“Hi, Mr. Kai,” my mother greeted him as she grinned widely. It's so good to see you, she said. “I see you are ready to do business.” Her voice was calm.

He nodded and held her by the hands to help her sit. “I never knew you had interesting business ideas that you would like to share with me,” he spoke.

My mother kept her glass cup and turned to him. “Sell some of your shares in the Coleman company,” she spoke.

My eyes widened, and I watched her quietly. I remained composed and played alone.

“Why would I do that? Is there any valid reason?” he asked.

“I don't need to tell you my reason. I need 5% of your shares in the Coleman company,” she repeated. Looking at him and waiting for a response. “What’s your response?” she asked.

His facial expression hardened. “NO! I won't do that,” he spoke.

My mother laughed hard and relaxed on the chair.

“Don't be too quick to make a decision, or you will get yourself into a lifetime of trouble that you won't be able to get out of.”

Mr. Kai faced her with a cold and questioning look. “What do you mean?”

She adjusted her sitting position. “Well, let’s say you won't like the Coleman family to find out about your embezzlement scheme,” she spoke with a sly smile on her face as she sipped her drink.

Mr. Kai became uncomfortable, adjusted his position, and sat close to her. “That's not true. Are you trying to blackmail me?”

My mother smiled a little and flipped her hair backwards.

“You can't be a thief and a liar at the same time. I have a lot of proof to bring you down.”

“Have you made your decision, or do you want your dirty business to be all over the news before tomorrow morning?” She spoke.

“I will sell it to you,” he said.

“Good boy,” she said, bringing out a piece of paper from her bag. “Just sign here and we are done,” she pointed out, handing a pen over to him.

He extended his eyes and signed the papers, and my mother smiled. I watched her as she easily made the deal with the man.

“You know your worth. She spoke and stood up. I followed her from behind, and we walked out of the bar.

I kept staring at her, and I wondered how

“Mother,” she said, turning to look at me. “That was impressive. How do you manage to do that?” I asked curiously.

My mother smiled. “Well, the mission hasn't been accomplished yet. Just watch me closely.”

“Mother, please tell me what you are up to. We just bought shares,” I was pleased. “What is this one for?”

She turned to me as she adjusted her back mirror and asked, “Do you want Nicklaus to have mercy on Elena after this? We need to add more fuel to the fire so that she won’t be set free.”

“Now, that's how you get things done,” she said, turning on her car engine.

Just then, my phone buzzed continuously. I looked at the screen to see who it was, and it was an unknown number.

I reached for my phone and answered the call, “Hello?” who is this?” I asked.

There was silence on the other side of the phone. “Hello, who is this? I don't have all day.” I asked.

Immediately, the call ended, and I wondered who it was. Immediately I drove off and reached my apartment. That's when my phone buzzed with notifications.

“I know your dirty secret,” it read.
