Chapter 46

Sarah’s POV:

The evening drew close, and I couldn't wait for the party tonight. I sat on my bed with my legs crossed and watched as my maid carefully arranged my outfit. The show and purse were neatly arranged. I had been waiting for this event for so long.

I contemplated the events of the last few days. It has been really suffocating for me, and when I saw Elena pregnant, These past few months have been hell, and tonight will be a night to put an end to it.

My mother walked into my room, leaving the door open, which was a sign for the maid to leave so we could have a private chat.

“Excuse me, ma'am,” the maid said, and she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

“Hey, mom! How are you preparing for tonight?” I asked.

“Everything is going smoothly. The furniture is all set,” she said excitedly.

“How about the substance? Is it ready?” My mother

I nodded my head and reached for my purse. I opened it and showed it to her. I grinned and, at the same time, pressed my lips into a thin line and narrowed my eyes while I lit my cigarette.

“I hope tonight will be the end of this misery,” I said, my voice deep and filled with hatred. I dragged the cigarettes and puffed out the smoke, which curled up in the air.

“Tonight is the perfect time and the only chance we've got. Make sure it is successful. Let's make it work perfectly without leaving any traces behind.” My mother spoke.

I stared at the window and smiled deeply, knowing that this would favour me and that I would be close to getting what I wanted.

I prepared for the night and slipped into a white dress. My makeup and hair were flawless. I have to be in the spotlight, and nobody would suspect my movement.

When it was time for the party, I walked out to the garden, and my eyes landed on Elena and Nicklaus.

“Sister!” I exclaimed and walked up to Elena. She turned around to see me standing behind her.

“It's so nice to see you here. You look good, and your baby bump fits you,” I said, and I smiled faintly as I scanned her dress head to toe. She was also putting on a white designer dress.

“Let the party begin,” I announced. Since the person we have been waiting for has arrived, I looked at Nicklaus, and he looked so handsome. I could not get my eyes off him. I wished I was the one who was holding him like that and carrying his child.

The party has already started. I greeted a lot of guests and chatted with some friends. My eyes were on Elena the whole time.

It's a good thing the party was outdoors, in the garden. There wouldn't be CCTV cameras around, and everyone would be busy chatting and laughing.

Just then, I sighted my mother. She looked stunning. I've always known her to never disappoint when it comes to fashion. Her dress was full of expensive glitter. 

“Keep your eyes on her,” she warned, and I nodded my head.

This is the right time for my plan. I watched as the drinks were gathered and glasses of champagne were arranged on the tray.

I could easily figure out which one was Elena’s drink. A glass of fresh juice in the tray. 

I quickly walked to the waiter holding the tray and asked for his help with my shoe.

“Excise me. Can you help me with the lace?” I asked

He nodded his head. “Sure,” he spoke, dropping the tray on the table, and he kneeled to help me.

I stood close and poured the substance into the drink, making sure all eyes were not on me. Everyone’s attention was focused on their guests as they discussed

He got up and took the tray in his hands. “Thank you,” I spoke. He nodded his head and walked to serve Ekena.

My plan has been accomplished. Let's see how this works out for me. I have to get Nicklaus all to myself. I don't care what happened to her. I will finally fix myself in her position, and I will enjoy everything she has been enjoying.

I called everyone’s attention for a toast, and I watched Elena sip her drink.

My mission had been accomplished. Now I need to sit and wait for the good news.
