Chapter 27

Sarah’s POV:

“It's not quite long since you came back from your honeymoon. I think you should do a pregnancy test, ma'am.” I heard noises coming from Elena's room.

My eyes widened in shock, and I felt my jaw clench in my face. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. The word repeated itself in my mind. How could Elena be pregnant so soon?

Pregnancy? Elena? This is not good for me. No, this had ruined my plans.

Immediately my facial expression hardened. It was too hard to keep smiling. I just faked a smile and walked into the room to catch up with Elena.

*** Earlier this morning****

Earlier today, I woke up very early in the morning, and I was determined to pay a visit to Elena. I wanted to see if she was truly happy, just like what I read in the blogs, or if she had been in pain.

I was aware that her husband was a billionaire’s heir, but I couldn't believe that he was healthy. All this time, I thought he was crippled, just like his old father. I lived my life full of regret, knowing fully well that I would have to take Elena’s place at that wedding.

Even when my father discussed Colaman’s proposal a few months ago, I couldn't imagine myself getting married to him, so I set Elena up.

“It would not be good if I went to the house and found Elena happy,” I spoke to my mother.

“Well, I hope she is not,” my mother responded and rolled her eyes.

I tried to snatch Caleb away from Elena, but I guess he didn't want me. Things never worked well for us, so I decided to move on.

I stood up from my bed and did my morning workout to keep my body in shape. After so much exercise, I walked into the shower

After a few minutes, I got out of the shower and cleaned my body with a fluffy white towel while sitting in the closet and watching my reflection in the mirror.

I styled my hair perfectly, and my makeup was flawless. I slipped into a white short dress and nice red heels. I picked up a red Hermes bag and stormed out of the room.

I walked into my car and zoomed off. I knew that I had written to her, but I did it to save my father’s company. I just wanted to see how she was doing and know if she was doing better than me, but that would be impossible.

Even if Nicklaus is a rich and handsome billionaire, I am very sure he rejects her.

After a short drive, I arrived at the huge man, and I stepped out of the car in the driveway. I was so eager to see Elena. I couldn't wait to get into the house and see her.

I was in awe of the mansion. This is my first time here, and it is indeed five times bigger than my father’s house. I looked around and observed the beautiful and serene environment.

As I entered the house, I couldn't help but think about how expensive the house looked. The expensive chandeliers and the expensive furniture.

My hard game, my strategies, and my manipulation had all favoured her. She had won the prize, and I was left with nothing. How did I know to do a proper finding about Nicklaus Coleman before convincing my dad to marry Elema off to him?

I admired the luxury of the building and the beautiful interiors as the butler walked me into the house.

I thought about how different my life would be if I had been the one who married Nicklaus. I would have been the wife of the richest man in the whole world and would be living in this grand mansion with everyone at my feet.

I thought about all the power and influence that I would have. I would have luxury cars, designer clothes, and VIP treatment anywhere in the world.

The butler was about to knock on Elena’s door. A voice called him from the way, “Mr. Mike, please, I need your assistance.” One of the maids called..

Mr. Mike turned to me. “This is the room. Just go in and see her; I have something else to attend to,” he said, leaving me alone in the hallway.

I was about to push the door open when I heard voices coming from the room. I steady my ears close to the door.

“It's not quite long since you came back from your honeymoon. I think you should do a pregnancy test, ma'am.”
