Chapter 15

Elena’s POV:

It's a new day, and of course, it's another day as the wife of Mrs. Nicklaus Coleman.

I found myself cuddled up in a soft body, and I felt the softness and warmth of the skin; it was as if I had been holding on to that body all night long. I snuggled deeper into his body without thinking.

There is this feeling that I felt in me that I hadn't felt in a long time. I felt safe and protected.

I slowly drifted off to sleep again, enjoying the warm body. I hadn't slept this well in a long time, and I could sleep all day.

My hands were across, and I was holding him like I never wanted to let go.

That's when my breath ceased, and I realised who I was holding. I quickly opened my eyes and pulled away.

Nicklaus's eyes were on me the whole time, and he smiled at me. My cheeks reddened, and I was feeling embarrassed. I shifted my gaze from him and looked at the other room.

Nicklaus smiled, and his eyes sparkled in the morning sun. He looked so handsome and perfect—like a model.

“Good morning, Mrs. Coleman,” he said, his voice husky and deep. He looked amused by my action.

I looked away, trying to hide the embarrassment in my face. I didn't know what to say or how to start explaining my actions. I couldn't bear to look him in the eyes.

Nicklaus' eyes were still on me; I could feel his eyes boring into my soul, and I became uncomfortable.

“Are you alright? You seem uncomfortable all of a sudden,” he asked, his tone teasing. “Why are your cheeks flushed early in the morning?”

I nodded my head, “I'm fine.” I muttered, trying to ignore the other question.

But Nicklaus wasn't buying it. He chuckled lightly and fixed his eyes on me. “Did you hold on to me tight because you never want to let go of me?” he asked, and he chuckled. I could tell that he was trying to tease me.

I rolled my eyes. "You think too highly of yourself, Nicklaus Coleman," I said. “The redness must be from the sun, and plus, I had a wonderful night's rest.”

A little smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “I asked a different question this time around,” he said.

I was short on words, and Nicklaus just laughed.

“Why would I not want to let go? I was just carried away in my sleep,” I explained. “You must think so highly of yourself, Mr. Nicklaus Coleman, or maybe you were the one who pulled me into that position.,” I said, rolling out of bed.

Nicklaus immediately jumped out of bed and walked in my direction. I stood still on the ground and watched him move very close to me. He held my chin up in his hands and fixed his eyes on me.

"Call my name," he commanded.

I felt a flutter in my chest and chills down my spine. I hesitated, not knowing what to do.

“Nicklaus,” I said, my voice low, and it cracked a little. I tried to hide how nervous I was, but my voice betrayed me.

He nodded his head and removed his finger from my chin. I was in the most awkward situation, and I wished the ground would just swallow me up.

“I will just have my shower. This place is hot." I spoke and walked away. I needed to escape, catch my breath, and relax.

I turned on the shower and allowed the water to cascade down my body. I cleared my head and tried to relax.

I stepped out and covered my body in a fluffy white towel. I checked my box and picked up a blue summer dress and Hermes slippers. I packed my hair in a ponytail and generously applied sunscreen to my skin.

When I came out of the closet, Nicklaus was nowhere to be found. I quickly walked to the living room, and he was seated in the dining room. He had already dressed up.

The table was covered with food. Different native delicacies, and they looked attractive.

“Where did you take your bath?” I asked, looking at him curiously.

He raised his eyes and looked at me. “You were taking so much time. So I had to use the outdoor shower and freshen up,” he said.

I was caught off guard. “You used the outdoor shower?” I asked, raising my eyebrows.

Nicklaus raised an eyebrow and folded his hands. “Is there a problem? Why did you ask again? he asked.

I shook my head. “No. There isn't.” I stuttered.

He gave me a questioning look and furrowed his eyebrows. “Are you jealous?” he asked.
