Chapter 106

Elena’s POV:

I woke up from my slumber when I heard noises coming from the sitting room. I opened my eyes and fixed it on the door. I tried to trace where the noise was coming from.

I hurriedly rolled out of bed and walked to the sitting room when I saw Alex walking into the house. He gently closed the front door.

“Hey, good morning, Alex,” I spoke while yawning. I felt refreshed and strong.

“Good morning, Elena.” He greeted me with a soft smile as he walked up to me.

“Was anyone at the door?” I asked curiously, remembering the noise I heard coming from the front door.

“What?” he asked, narrowing his eyes and giving me a questioning look.

“I heard noises coming from outside. Was anybody here?” I asked again, trying to be sure of my assumptions.

Alex shook his head and smiled nervously. “It was just my dry cleaner,” he responded. I noticed how uneasy he was, but I managed to brush it off.

"Oh, okay,” I spoke.

“I hope you had a wonderful night's rest,” he asked, walking close to me.

I nodded my head, and my eyes were on him. “Yes, I slept well. I haven't slept this well in a long time,” I answered back.My voice was soft and I felt grateful for this wonderful moment.

Alex was walking close to me, and his face was a few inches away from mine when I pulled away immediately. “I would like to prepare breakfast; it has been a long time since I cooked something, and you know how much I love cooking,” I spoke and walked into the kitchen.

since I had been feeling strong and refreshed, it would be better to do something and move my body. I can't stay in one position all the time. Cooking would be fun to do right now.

Alex followed me from behind. “Yeah, that's right,” he answered back, his eyes never leaving mine.

“Would you like me to make some pancakes?” I asked, resting on the kitchen counter.

Alex nodded his head, “That would be great,” he said and walked close to me, “or we could make it together,” he continued.

“Alright then,” I said and brought out the pan. We started arranging our ingredients and measuring them properly. We joked and laughed while we baked the pancake.

Alex stained some flower powder in my face, and I did the same. We laughed and had fun while cooking.

We ate to our satisfaction while we chatted about random things and laughed with our faces stained. When I was done eating, I stood up from the chair. I packed the dishes to wash them, but Alex stopped me.

“It's fine, Elena. You have your bath, and I will do the dishes. You look messy. Then we can discuss how to get you free from this house arrest,” he chuckled.

“Alright, I said and walked inside the room to have a quick shower.” I spoke and walked out.
