In all the years I spent thinking I was nothing more than a mere human, I never imagined moving as fast as I did. I couldn’t recall how long the car ride from the castle to my step-mother’s pack, but I was sure it wasn’t near as fast as I got there now.

Despite the voice in my head, which for some reason kept screaming I had to turn around and forget about the call, I found myself standing in the forest right next to the castle no longer than an hour later.

Honestly, I was taken aback by that detail - how someone, who tried to force me to harm children, could scream at the top of their lungs that I had to leave was beyond me.

“Shush it, if something fishy is going on around here, I need to remain hidden and watch from the shadows for now. It won’t be possible if we get into a screaming match because of you,” I hissed at the voice.
