Everything happened so fast, I couldn’t follow it all. At this point, unbeknownst to me, somehow I had managed to position Titus in a way his head laid on my thighs and my hand cupped his cheek.

His breathing was labored and eyes kept closing. I didn’t feel the burning in my throat, despite the blood that gushed out of him and even Kanox did nothing but howl in agony.

“Don’t you dare to die on me, Titus! Don’t you dare!” I hissed at him as I tried to focus on nothing but his heartbeat.

Although I wanted to watch how Xabat dealt with Asher and his fucking friend, I couldn’t bring myself to pull my gaze away from Titus.

I feared he would give up if I didn’t keep watching him.

“Do I look like a dead giveaway?” Titus chuckled, still finding a way to add another joke even in a situation as such.
