Ethan's pov

I stretched my tie, catching a glimpse of it that felt a little distracting. It's not that this kind of formal look doesn't suit my taste. It's just that it makes me remember things I don't want to.

I removed the tie from my clothes, placing it on the table unceremoniously. While breathing more freely, I tapped my fingers on the table, making a sound that played like a background in that quiet place.

A knock sounded on the door, and I turned my eyes towards it. "Sir, it's me, Dave." A familiar voice came from behind the door.

"Come in." I turned the chair in my room towards the door, seeing the person come inside with his face lowered after briefly meeting my gaze.

"Afternoon, sir." He bowed, standing about a meter away from me. "I came to report what you asked."

I delegated the investigation to Alex some time ago because I thought it would be faster if I found out about it my way rather than waiting for Sarah to gather all the evidence.
