The human intrigued her. Alaina wasn't sure why. She had to expose her secret to save his life. With him knowing she was a vampire, her and her sisters had to leave Devils Lake. Knowing she would never see him again, her heart ached. Eleven years later, Alaina and Arianna were in Los Angeles after Abigail had left them. Alaina was surfing when she seen him. Crashing into the ocean and washing up on the shore, he ran to her. She made the mistake of sleeping with him and because of that he thought they were going to be together. She knew that couldn’t happen, it was too dangerous, for her and her sisters, and him. She pushed him away. In his anger, he vowed to find a way to kill vampires and succeeded, and he discovered so much more about himself than he ever thought possible. He was from a line of witches, and he had magic too. But he wasn’t the only one. Will he fulfill his vow and kill Alaina? Or will she kill him? Or maybe love will win in the end?
View MoreAbigail and Nicholas stepped of the plane in Los Angeles and got a car. She put the address that Alaina sent her into the GPS and headed to the house. She was glad that Alaina was getting Arianna out of Devils Lake but she wasn’t happy that Alaina was going back. But Alaina needed to handle this situation, and if Alaina couldn’t, she would. She won’t take any chances when it came to her sisters. She didn’t want Alaina to go back alone, and her and Nicholas had talked about him staying with Arianna while Abigail goes back with Alaina. That was the only way she could make sure the situation would be taken care of. Nicholas wasn’t happy about it, but he finally gave in and agreed. They pulled up to the house and found that Alaina and Arianna were already there. Nicholas got their bags out of the trunk and followed Abigail in the house. Her sisters were waiting at the door to wrap her in a hug, all of them crying. Abigail hoped to never go this long without seeing her sisters again. Sh
“What the fuck?” Alaina was practically yelling at this point. As soon as she got back to the hotel room Arianna had showed her a picture of the amulet she had found. It was hanging around the neck of the witch that had killed their mother. They knew that witch wasn’t still alive. Alaina and Hannah had seen to that. After she had killed their mother, she disappeared for years. Then one night, while Alaina was visiting Hannah and her new daughter, Sybil tried to attack Hannah, and if Alaina hadn’t of been there, she may have succeeded. But Alaina was there, and her and Hannah killed her. Sybil couldn’t have been the one to give that amulet to Caleb, but it could have been one of her descendants. They weren’t even sure she even had any. But if it wasn’t, then it could have been a friend of Sybil’s looking for revenge. Either way, they had to get that amulet away from Caleb. It was sure to hold a lot of dark magic, since Sybil was one of the biggest practitioners and held the most power
“Arianna, look at this!” Alaina yelled suddenly, making Arianna jump. “What? Oh my.” Arianna said looking at Alaina’s computer screen. Alaina had managed to track down her mother’s friends last living relative. She couldn’t believe it. It was Caleb. “So, Caleb is Hannah’s so many greats grandson.” Arianna said. “Looks that way.” Alaina said. “I wonder if he knows.” “I don’t know. For a split second after that amulet knocked you on your ass, surprised crossed his face. I don’t think he knew what kind of power it held.” Arianna said to her. “I wonder if the power came from the amulet, or if it came from him.” “Could be a little of both. The amulet could have magnified his own powers, powers that look like they are just starting to manifest themselves.” Arianna said. “Have you found anything out about that amulet yet?” Alaina asked. “No, not yet. But now that I know that Caleb is from Hannah’s line, I have a better place to look.” “Ok, keep looking. I’m going to go to Caleb’s an
Alaina walked into the hotel room, Arianna meeting her at the door. “Were you able to get a look at it?” Arianna asked. “No, I never got the chance. He took me down to the lake. While we were there, he got a message and said he had to go to the hospital. As soon as we got back to his house he went inside and shut the door on me.” Alaina said. “We need to get a look at that amulet. There are too many, from too many different families, that can hold that kind of power. I can’t narrow it down without seeing what it looks like.” she told Alaina. “I will go back and watch for him to get home. After he falls asleep, I will sneak in and find it.” said Alaina. “You will have to be quick. Any ideas where he would keep it?” Arianna asked. “Something tells me he is still wearing it around his neck.” Alaina said and a low growl escaped her. “Really?” Arianna asked. “Yes.” Alaina said. “I need something dark to wear.” she was digging through her back and pulled out a pair of black pants, b
Alaina felt something was off with Caleb, but she just couldn’t put her finger on it. He was giving her a chance to make things right, but there was something nagging at her, telling her something wasn’t right. But she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and tried to forget about them. She was just happy that Caleb was at least giving her a chance. He hadn’t forgiven her yet, that much she could see in his eyes, but he was letting her be there, letting her try. Arianna had stayed in the hotel room, she had been trying to see what she could find on that amulet. She had even called Abigail and told her about it as well. They were all concerned about how Caleb came about it. It seemed too much of a coincidence that he just came across it at a sale. Someone wanted him to have it, to use it against them. Caleb didn’t even know what it was, what kind of power it held. But they did. Their mother had been a witch, and even though Alaina was the only one born that possessed her mo
Alaina and Arianna got off the plane in Devils Lake and got a rental car. They decided to get a hotel room first before they went to Caleb’s. “Are you sure I should go to Caleb’s with you? Maybe I should just stay at the hotel.” Arianna asked. “Yes, I am sure. I need you there for moral support.” Alaina said and they both laughed. They got their bags out of the car and went inside the hotel. After they got into their room and put their stuff away, Alaina changed her clothes. And then changed her clothes again. She was nervous and procrastinating. “Stop fidgeting, you look great.” Arianna told her. “I’m nervous, and if I am being honest, I’m scared.” Alaina said. “I know. But don’t worry, I will be right there with you.” Alaina sighed. “Alright, let’s go.” Alaina and Arianna got out of the car and walked towards the house that Alaina got the address for. Alaina took a deep breath and knocked on the door. They waited but nobody came to the door. “Looks like he isn’t ho
Caleb woke up the next morning and he thought for sure that his head was about to split open. He fumbled his way to his bathroom and found some ibuprofen. He turned on the water in the sink and threw a handful of ibuprofen into his mouth and stuck his head down to the faucet and got a mouthful of water and swallowed the pills. He turned off the water and went over to the toilet to relieve himself, trying not to throw up in the process. He washed his hands and went back into the bedroom. He realized that he had left his sliding glass door open. He walked over to the door and was about to close it when he seen the bottle of whiskey still sitting on the outside table. The hell with it, he thought to himself. He picked it up and took a big drink. He shut the door and walked over to his bed and picked up his phone, it was still off. He powered it back on and as soon as it powered up, it started chiming with message after message. Most of them were from Alaina, a few were from Drew and Lar
Caleb climbed off the plane, anger seething through his whole body. He walked through the terminal to baggage claim. He waited until finally baggage started to come through. Getting his bags, he made his way out of the airport and to his truck. He spent the whole plane ride searching for whatever information he could on vampires. He already knew some of what he read were myths based on what Alaina had already told him. But what he needed to know, was how to kill them. He found several different methods, but there was no way of knowing which ones were myths and which ones were true. He couldn’t very well try it out on one. Unless, he thought to himself, he could find a way to weaken one enough to keep it captive until he could figure out how to kill it. The only way he knew how to weaken a vampire was to not let it feed. He was pretty sure that garlic and crosses were myths. Hell, all of this wasn’t going to matter if he couldn’t even find one. He wondered if there were any vampire
Abigail woke up the next morning and checked her phone to see what time it was. She couldn’t believe what she saw. She sat there just staring at her phone, until Nicholas walked in. “Love, what’s wrong?” he asked. “Nothing is wrong, I just checked my phone to see what time it was, and I have a missed call and a message from Alaina.” she said. “I’m just shocked, I can’t believe she called.” “Is everything ok?” “I guess so. Her message just says to call her when I get a chance, she just wants to talk.” Abigail told him. Nicholas smiled. “Call her.” “I will.” She said, still sitting on the bed staring at her phone. She still couldn’t believe it. She figured Arianna would be the first one to reach out. She never thought it would have been Alaina. She dialed Alaina’s number, after a few rings she answered. Abigail listened to her sister break down in tears as she told her what had happened with a human and how Arianna wouldn’t speak to her because of it. Abigail’s heart broke fo
North Dakota, 2009 Brown leaves covered the ground from past years. The leaves on the trees were green as spring turned into summer. Lost once again he wandered in the woods. His uncle told him not to wander far in fear this would happen. Again. Caleb tried to remember how long he had been walking. He had been thinking of his parents again and lost track of time, and he wasn’t watching where he was going either. He was thinking about the accident that claimed both his mother and his father’s lives. He remembered everything that happened that night and the last words they said to him. It was only two weeks into the summer and his parents thought he was hanging out with the wrong kind of people. They were afraid that he was going to get in trouble or get hurt. They had a fight and his father told him, “We are sending you to stay with your uncle for a few months. You need to get out of the city and get some fresh air. We know you don’t want to go but it will do you some good.” They w
