Chapter: Chapter 54Alessio POV He stood on the rocks, watching the sun beginning to creep up over the horizon. Brilliant rays and hues of red and orange cascaded across the sky. Anger coursed through him. His blood was boiling. How did they not realize that she was pregnant before now? This changed everything. His whole plan was shot to shit now. The witch would be here at any moment. He needed her to take care of the problem, one way or another. He turned on his heel and headed towards the pier. He stood at the edge, watching the waves crashing against each other in the distance as the storm raged around them. The storm he felt inside of him, tearing him apart like he was a rickety wooden boat trying to weather a hurricane. On one side, it was calm, peaceful, bright. The other side was hell on earth. A storm that raged on for miles and miles with torrential rainfall that just left you cold and wet. A circle of light caught his attention. Small at first, growing bigger ever so slightly. His hear

Chapter: Chapter 53Alessio POV “Don’t worry brother, they will pay for it. They wanted you to be their King so you would go to war for them. Then made ran us out of our home afterwards. They used us to fight a war that had nothing to do with us.” Sebastian said. “I wasn’t completely innocent. I let the power of being King go to my head. I liked the power of it.” Alessio said regretfully. “If they hadn’t involved us in their war, you would have never been King for it to go to your head.” Sebastian said. “It doesn’t matter, the past is the past and we can’t change it. All we can do now is look to our future.” Alessio said. Sebastian got up from his chair and walked over to Alessio and put his hand on Alessio’s shoulder. “Our future where we will be home.” Alessio covered Sebastian’s hand with his own. “Yes, we will be.” Alessio picked up his coffee and took a drink. As soon as he did, he spit it back out. Coffee spewed everywhere. It had gotten cold. “Glad I wasn’t still sitting in that cha

Chapter: Chapter 52Alessio POV He woke to the sun shining through the windows. Rubbing the back of his hand over his eyes, wiping the sleep out of them, he sat up in the huge king-size bed. Emma was lying next to him, snoring softly. She still hadn’t woken up from the sedative, but it should be wearing off at any time. A low growl rumbled from his chest as he saw part of the mark on her neck, peeking out of the collar of her shirt. Soon it would be his mark on her neck instead. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and placed his bare feet on the cold wooden floor. He felt completely rested, he hadn’t slept this good in years. Today marked a new beginning for him and his pack. And his Queen. Today, they all began their new lives. He was excited to start the day, a feeling he hadn’t had in a long time. It felt good to feel something else besides anger and resentment. He still had those feelings, but they weren’t at the forefront anymore. He looked behind him at his sleeping Queen and he felt lik

Chapter: Chapter 51Alessio POV Alessio leaned against the car, his patience wearing thin. He was anxious to be on the road. Where the fuck are you? He mind linked Sebastian, letting his impatience sound through his voice. Almost there, sir. Well hurry the fuck up. Yes, sir. Still leaning against the car, Alessio crossed his arms over his chest. His foot tapping, showing his aggravation, when finally, he seen his pack approaching. “About fucking time. Let’s go.” He snapped, tossing the bag of keys to Sebastian to distribute. “You ride with me.” He told Sebastian. “Yes, sir.” Sebastian said, nodding his head once. Alessio climbed in the driver’s seat and put the key in the ignition. The car purred to life. Only a few things in this life gave Alessio satisfaction, the sound of his favorite car’s engine was one of them. Once Sebastian climbed into the passenger seat and shut the door, he put the car in drive and pressed the gas pedal to the floor. The car sped off, gravel flying out fro

Chapter: Chapter 50Alessio POV They had been hiding, watching, for two days now. Waiting. “Sir, something isn’t right.” Sebastian said. “I know.” he said curtly. They had watched the patrols go by all day yesterday, and today, not one single patrol. He didn’t need his Beta to tell him something that was obvious. “They know we are coming. They are pulling their guards back, they are getting ready to fight.” Alessio told him. “But how? How did they know we were coming?” Sebastian asked. “I don’t know. Cut the fence, let’s go.” Alessio commanded. “But sir-” Sebastian began. Alessio grabbed him up by his throat and squeezed. “If you value your life, you will do what the fuck I say and not question me again.” Alessio threw Sebastian against a tree. Sebastian landed on his knees, clutching his throat. Coughing and gasping for air. “Yes sir.” he said hoarsely. “Do it.” Sebastian said, turning to the guy holding the metal cutters. Once the hole was big enough, they crossed the fence and into Silv

Chapter: Chapter 22Abigail and Nicholas stepped of the plane in Los Angeles and got a car. She put the address that Alaina sent her into the GPS and headed to the house. She was glad that Alaina was getting Arianna out of Devils Lake but she wasn’t happy that Alaina was going back. But Alaina needed to handle this situation, and if Alaina couldn’t, she would. She won’t take any chances when it came to her sisters. She didn’t want Alaina to go back alone, and her and Nicholas had talked about him staying with Arianna while Abigail goes back with Alaina. That was the only way she could make sure the situation would be taken care of. Nicholas wasn’t happy about it, but he finally gave in and agreed. They pulled up to the house and found that Alaina and Arianna were already there. Nicholas got their bags out of the trunk and followed Abigail in the house. Her sisters were waiting at the door to wrap her in a hug, all of them crying. Abigail hoped to never go this long without seeing her sisters again. Sh

Chapter: Chapter 21“What the fuck?” Alaina was practically yelling at this point. As soon as she got back to the hotel room Arianna had showed her a picture of the amulet she had found. It was hanging around the neck of the witch that had killed their mother. They knew that witch wasn’t still alive. Alaina and Hannah had seen to that. After she had killed their mother, she disappeared for years. Then one night, while Alaina was visiting Hannah and her new daughter, Sybil tried to attack Hannah, and if Alaina hadn’t of been there, she may have succeeded. But Alaina was there, and her and Hannah killed her. Sybil couldn’t have been the one to give that amulet to Caleb, but it could have been one of her descendants. They weren’t even sure she even had any. But if it wasn’t, then it could have been a friend of Sybil’s looking for revenge. Either way, they had to get that amulet away from Caleb. It was sure to hold a lot of dark magic, since Sybil was one of the biggest practitioners and held the most power

Chapter: Chapter 20“Arianna, look at this!” Alaina yelled suddenly, making Arianna jump. “What? Oh my.” Arianna said looking at Alaina’s computer screen. Alaina had managed to track down her mother’s friends last living relative. She couldn’t believe it. It was Caleb. “So, Caleb is Hannah’s so many greats grandson.” Arianna said. “Looks that way.” Alaina said. “I wonder if he knows.” “I don’t know. For a split second after that amulet knocked you on your ass, surprised crossed his face. I don’t think he knew what kind of power it held.” Arianna said to her. “I wonder if the power came from the amulet, or if it came from him.” “Could be a little of both. The amulet could have magnified his own powers, powers that look like they are just starting to manifest themselves.” Arianna said. “Have you found anything out about that amulet yet?” Alaina asked. “No, not yet. But now that I know that Caleb is from Hannah’s line, I have a better place to look.” “Ok, keep looking. I’m going to go to Caleb’s an

Chapter: Chapter 19Alaina walked into the hotel room, Arianna meeting her at the door. “Were you able to get a look at it?” Arianna asked. “No, I never got the chance. He took me down to the lake. While we were there, he got a message and said he had to go to the hospital. As soon as we got back to his house he went inside and shut the door on me.” Alaina said. “We need to get a look at that amulet. There are too many, from too many different families, that can hold that kind of power. I can’t narrow it down without seeing what it looks like.” she told Alaina. “I will go back and watch for him to get home. After he falls asleep, I will sneak in and find it.” said Alaina. “You will have to be quick. Any ideas where he would keep it?” Arianna asked. “Something tells me he is still wearing it around his neck.” Alaina said and a low growl escaped her. “Really?” Arianna asked. “Yes.” Alaina said. “I need something dark to wear.” she was digging through her back and pulled out a pair of black pants, b

Chapter: Chapter 18Alaina felt something was off with Caleb, but she just couldn’t put her finger on it. He was giving her a chance to make things right, but there was something nagging at her, telling her something wasn’t right. But she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and tried to forget about them. She was just happy that Caleb was at least giving her a chance. He hadn’t forgiven her yet, that much she could see in his eyes, but he was letting her be there, letting her try. Arianna had stayed in the hotel room, she had been trying to see what she could find on that amulet. She had even called Abigail and told her about it as well. They were all concerned about how Caleb came about it. It seemed too much of a coincidence that he just came across it at a sale. Someone wanted him to have it, to use it against them. Caleb didn’t even know what it was, what kind of power it held. But they did. Their mother had been a witch, and even though Alaina was the only one born that possessed her mo

Chapter: Chapter 17Alaina and Arianna got off the plane in Devils Lake and got a rental car. They decided to get a hotel room first before they went to Caleb’s. “Are you sure I should go to Caleb’s with you? Maybe I should just stay at the hotel.” Arianna asked. “Yes, I am sure. I need you there for moral support.” Alaina said and they both laughed. They got their bags out of the car and went inside the hotel. After they got into their room and put their stuff away, Alaina changed her clothes. And then changed her clothes again. She was nervous and procrastinating. “Stop fidgeting, you look great.” Arianna told her. “I’m nervous, and if I am being honest, I’m scared.” Alaina said. “I know. But don’t worry, I will be right there with you.” Alaina sighed. “Alright, let’s go.” Alaina and Arianna got out of the car and walked towards the house that Alaina got the address for. Alaina took a deep breath and knocked on the door. They waited but nobody came to the door. “Looks like he isn’t ho
