You Said I Belong To You!

Lykoz's POV

Instead of replying to my question, her hand slid away from mine, and the next thing I felt was her soft frame against mine, followed by her melodious voice.

“Thank you for waking up.”

“Uh?” My eyes widened at the sudden kind action I am getting from Dina.

I hurt her. I made her cry. Why on earth would she be grateful that I am alive when she is supposed to be the happiest person about my situation?

She remained in that position for a while, the warm feeling between our skin ignited no reaction from my wolf.

My wolf hasn't awakened.

“Alpha, I would get the physician to check on you,” Dina's voice snapped me out of my thoughts, making me wonder how many days I have been unconscious for her to have learned a lot about the werewolf realm.

“Don’t worry,” I muttered calmly.

Without allowing her to leave the room, I asked. “You could have left me to go see your mother, why did you stay with me?”

“Don’t you think I owe you my life after saving me?” She asked, sounding a bit confident. “You said I belong to you and can't leave your sight or you are going to break the whole of me— my body, soul, heart, and existence,” she reminded me.

I smiled faintly at her response, not expecting it from her.

“If you need anything, do not hesitate to inform me,” she muttered before leaving the room.

Even though she was fine with it, I know I did not deserve this nice treatment from her. I almost killed her during my heat period.

Knowing it is of no use trying to get rid of the guilt burning through my veins when there are other pressing matters I have to tend to, especially the border issue.

I mind-link my Beta, demanding his presence.

“My Alpha, are you awake?” Zach asked the moment he entered, his head lowered.

“I want a summary of what happened when I was away,” I instructed, sitting upright.

Zach hesitated before he began. “The vampires are trying to tear down our border and claim our realm. Also, our farmlands are becoming infertile, the rate of death is way beyond the birth rate of the werewolves.”

I clenched my fingers at his words. Not only did he fail to protect them from a curse which was initially placed on me, but I am going to lose the realm to the vampires.

Even though I want to fight them, I am nothing but a powerless and weak man without my wolf.

“As for the death rate, I am going to meet with the Physician after the annual event and talk about it,” I said calmly, enduring the pain that was beginning to wreck me.

This is the first time I have felt such a huge pain. Every bone in my body felt like it was going to break, my body sore. It is obvious I am experiencing my own share of the pain I inflicted on Dina.

“Annual event? I thought you said we should cancel it?” Zach asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

“I said it should be postponed,” I replied, the pain becoming obvious. “I want the event to hold on the night of the rezzling sun.”

“As for the vampires, I would wait for—”

“My Alpha, I am sorry for interrupting you. But can we wait until your wolf awakens? If anyone knows about this, you won't only lose the throne, but everyone around you, including yourself,” Zach interrupted me, making the obvious truth hit me like a rock.

Knowing Zach could read me like an open book, I decided not to lie to him. “What can I do to get back my wolf? I want to protect the realm and attack the vampires before they break the barrier.”

“Since the physician has helped many pack members awaken their wolves, he should be able to help you,” Zach’s words gave me a glimpse of lost hope. “I would come with him later in the evening so as to avoid suspicion.”

“Please do.”

DINA's POV:

I smiled faintly as my eyes landed on my pretty reflection in the mirror. I looked exceptionally beautiful and different.

Though it was all thanks to Ayira who took her time to apply makeup on my pale face, dolling me up.

“My Luna, the Alpha won't be able but claim you. You are the definition of the goddess of beauty,” Ayira commended, handing me the gown which was said to belong to Lykoz’s mother.

It used to be their Queen Luna’s favorite until she passed away. According to Ayira, she said the gown should be passed down to her son's destined mate.

“I swear to the moon goddess, you look gorgeous and breathtaking,” Ayira commended, making me feel flattered.

I smiled at her overreaction before taking my gaze off the mirror. “Are you sure he would like me?” I asked, knowing it is ridiculous to want more than that night.

What I should be doing is thinking about escaping the werewolf realm and returning home. Back to my blind mother who no one but me.

“Would? My Alpha likes you. I could see that in his eyes the day he saved you,” Ayira replied, sincerity laced in her tiny voice.

Feeling nervous, I left for his room, hoping I won't make a mockery of myself in front of him.

Arriving at his room, the guards let me in since they already knew I am his destined mate.

My eyes scanned the whole room which looked exactly as I arranged it before leaving, my gaze finally landed on Lykoz. He was deeply lost in his own thoughts just as I was a moment ago.

Somehow, I did not want to think of something impossible. I would just go with the flow of time, after all, I already resigned to my fate. Whatever comes my way or happens, I won't fight it any longer.

“My Alpha,” I called out, trying to distract him.

“Why are you here?” He raised his gaze to look at me before asking, anger evident on his face and in his voice.
