Destined Mate?

DINA POV:

“I just want to check up on you,” I replied, my body trembling.

He stood up before walking up to me, leaving little gaps between us. “What right did you have to check up on me? Did you think because we shared a moment of intimacy suddenly gives you the right to act like someone important to me?” He asked, his gaze scanning my body. If a gaze could strip one naked, I would have been standing naked in front of him now.

“You are nothing but a plaything I bought! You are nothing more than that, don't ever forget that!”

I felt my heart shattered into pieces at his words. His words broke every part of mine in the most brutal way—a feeling I didn't expect to have.

I should be excited he wasn't attached to me. I should be excited that I can go back to the moment when returning to my mother was the only goal in my mind.

“I—”

“One more thing, you aren't deserving of my mother's dress!” He half-yelled, interrupting me from my thoughts.

Without waiting for me to talk, he closed the gaps between us, ripping off the gown on me.

My eyes widened at his cruelty, not expecting him to do this to me. “Alpha…” I tried talking but I couldn't, a sob tore out of my throat instead.

My gaze fixed on my dress which was now a rag on me, I realized I was wrong. I have never been right—I shouldn't have forgotten that is my reality.

There is no way we can feel anything more than a master and a pet, a werewolf and a human. We can never feel anything beyond possessiveness and submissiveness—our worlds are too different to be a fit for each other.

“But you said I am your destined mate,” the words rolled out, tears streaming down my face.

“Destined mate? We only share a cursed bond which I would break in front of everyone. You, a weak human girl, are unworthy of my claim! You are unworthy of me!”

His words made me feel a pang of pain, my inner strength wrecking to nothing.

“Get out of my room, Now!” He commanded, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I cleaned my face before walking out, covering my exposed parts.

LYKOZ POV:

A part of mine kept drowning in guilt as I watched Dina leave while another part of mine, which wanted to protect her from myself, felt satisfied.

If staying away from her is the only way we could abstain from hurting each other, I would run miles away from her.

I don't want to see her cry again. I should be protecting her and not hurting her, which I had always been doing.

I have never made her smile. All I do is impose pain on her and expose her to danger which could destroy her existence.

“My Alpha, the physician is here,” Zach interrupted me from my thoughts.

I took my gaze off the direction of the door to Zach, standing next to him is the physician. One of the trusted ones in this house.

“Thank you, Zach,” I muttered calmly.

He smiled faintly before raising his gaze to meet mine. “I wish you a quick recovery, My Alpha,” he said before excusing himself.

Left with the physician, I let out a deep breath before informing him. “I refused my wolf to take control when it wasn't the night of the red full moon. It hasn't awakened ever since then,” I replied, the incident replaying in my head.

How I struggled to endure watching her in pain, my wolf having no pity on her even though she is our mate.

“Beta Zach already informed me,” the physician muttered before walking up to me.

After feeling my pulse, he took a few steps back, his gaze lowered. “I am not sure if it would work, but I will try using the injections I got from the lab, many of the pack members who used it got their wolf immediately.”

“Why are you hesitating?” I asked, sounding almost desperate.

“I am sorry,” he apologized before bringing out the injection from his small bag.

I almost screamed at the pain from the injection. It was painful for a fleeting moment, a feeling I never thought I would feel even for the slightest reason.

I waited for a few minutes, hoping my wolf would react, but nothing happened. I turned to face the physician before instructing, “I want as many shots as it will take for my wolf to awaken.”

“My Alpha—”

“I know, but just do it,” I instructed.

It is a huge risk taking too many shots, especially when it would affect my wolf if it finally awakened. In many cases, the wolf could gain power to control the body at his will.

I snapped out of my thoughts at the pain from the injection. The physician kept injecting me, but I felt nothing.

After a while, he stopped.

“Why did you stop?” I asked angrily.

This isn't the time to care about the pain I am feeling. The werewolf realm needs an Alpha—the strong Alpha they have always had and not a pathetic man who lost his wolf!

“My Alpha, I am sorry,” he apologized. I shot him a death glare, making him continue. “I already injected you with the ten injections I brought. Only a shot was enough to awaken anyone's wolf.”

“I think what you need isn't this injection but a healer. Maybe your wolf is injured and too weak to react,” the physician added.
