PAIN

Dina's POV:

I gave up trying. I allowed him to do whatever he wanted to me, barely able to hold back the pain inside me.

After he was satisfied, done punishing me in his own cruel way, he thrust into me one more time before sliding out.

My stomach churned, and the next thing I felt was fluid dripping down my thighs, the wrecking sensation I felt earlier replaced with regret.

I closed my eyes, allowing my tears to pour down, feeling sour all over my body.

My eyes trailed off to Lykoz, who was slowly transforming into his human form, blood dripping down his claws, his hair rough, naked with bruises and marks on his body.

The rage I felt towards him was suddenly replaced with pity. He lost control to his wolf again.

It wasn't his fault he murders any female he mates with; his cruel fate was to be blamed.

Many thoughts clouded my mind as Ayira’s words replayed in my head. Lykoz is cursed, and the tendency to lose his sanity to his wolf is high. According to Ayira, the physician said if he continues to lose his sanity to his wolf during rut, he would go feral, and finally mad.

“Are you hurt?”

His question snapped me out of my thoughts, reminding me of the pain overwhelming me.

“Do you expect me to be fine after what happened?” Instead of replying to his question, I asked sadly, tears clustered in my eyes.

He ignored my question before walking up to me. His approaching steps instilled fear inside me, making me wonder if he was coming for another round.

Another round of torture.

Closing the gap between us, he reached for the rope before untying my hands and legs. He walked back to the spot I took off his dress, fitting himself into them.

“I—”

Before I could complete my statement, he spoke up. “I don't care what happened in here. Blame yourself for coming into my room and throwing yourself at me. After all, this is all you could offer to me,” he slapped me with the harsh truth before storming out of the room.

I can't offer him anything. The only thing I have to offer him is my body— I can never be his Luna. To him, I would forever be that poor girl he bought off from an auctioning event.

I snapped out of my thoughts before climbing down the bed. I did not bother wearing my underwear; I wrapped my gown around my body, looking like a mess.

Since all the workers are on break, I seized the opportunity to sneak out of Lykoz’s room.

I couldn't walk straight. I limped to my room, which was miles away from Lykoz’s chamber.

I pushed the door open, letting go of the tattered dress I wrapped around my waist the moment I entered.

“My Luna?” A familiar voice called out, making my heart skip.

I turned to see who it was. “Ayira, what are you doing here? Don't you have a mate?” I asked calmly, pretending to be okay even though my voice was failing me.

“My mate doesn't want to reject or accept me. He doesn't like me neither,” she replied before walking up to me, smiling as if it was nothing.

“Why would he do that? You are beautiful and perfect. If I were to be a man, I wouldn't hesitate to have you to myself,” I joked, making her smile.

“I am not a full werewolf. My mother is a Lycan,” she muttered, confusing me. “Lycans are stronger than we werewolves and even the rogues, but werewolves are the rulers of the realm. A century ago when a war broke out between us, the lycans and rogues decided to be on their own. My mother left me with my late father,” Ayira added, clearing my confusion.

“Then that means you are strong. Isn't that what any male werewolf wants?” I asked calmly, wondering why she hasn't been taken away from Lykoz.

She is pretty with an oval face, onyx long hair, calm, and has a sweet tongue. She is the perfect description of the word ‘beautiful.’

“Maybe except for my mate, Beta Zach,” she replied.

My eyes rolled at her words. That must be a joke… So Beta Zach, who always has a stern look, has a mate? “Just give up on him. I don't think he is into women,” I teased, trying to lighten her mood.

“I know, right? I am too pretty to be ignored,” she flowed along with the mood, making the both of us burst into laughter.

She reached for my hands, assisting me up. Seeing that my legs were trembling, she wrapped her hand around my neck, supporting me at each step I took.

“Did you both consummate your bond?”

I coughed softly at her question. “That isn't why I went there for. But it just happened,” I replied calmly. “His wolfed out in the process.”

She stopped, turning to face me, amusement evident on her face. “You mean our Alpha wolfed out, and you are still in one piece? Never has that happened since I have been working here,” she revealed.

“Well, it did. Though, I thought I was going to die. Rough, crazy…” the rest of the words stuck, keeping it to myself.

We continued until we got to the bathtub, the water cleaned, jasmine flowers in the water, its fragrance filling my nostrils. I felt calm at its fragrance.

“When our Alpha lost sanity, his wolf having control of his mind and fully in his wolf form, all he cares about is sex. A crazy sex until its prey is shredded into pieces. Lifeless,” Ayira emphasized before stretching over the sponge and soap for me.

I took it from her, feeling like my hand was about to fall off.

“Should I bathe you?”

“No, I can help myself.”

Ayira excused me, giving me the chance I needed to clear my head off and think. I have to find the opening of the realm. I have to escape this place— mother is waiting for me.

I can't add to her worries. Worrying about father was enough.

“Argh!”

I screamed out at the sudden pain that flooded me. It was sudden and unbearable, my body temperature rising, feeling like my heart is being pounded.

“Help…” I cried out, my heart rate slowing down, barely able to breathe.

I tried crawling out of the bathtub to Ayira, but I couldn't lift any part of my body. I felt weak, I felt like every cell inside me is dead.
