Chapter Seventy
A gasp escaped Brooklyn’s mouth as she clutched at her heart with shock. So he knew that she was here but how? Did granny Sarah give her away? However, that question was soon answered since both granny Sarah and her husband were just as perplexed as she was.
“How did you know that Brooklyn is here?” Asked a perplexed granny Sarah. Nikolas laughed and stood up. How could he miss her? The moment he had stopped his car farther down the street, he had seen her peering at him from a window, at a little distance from where he was. He had patiently waited for her to make a move. He had been so happy when she at last did!
“She can’t hide behind a curtain for long. I saw her fighting with that assistant of hers, Wesley Mitchell. Where is he by the way? He needs to be punished,” said Nikolas.

Seeing him after a whole day, Brooklyn forgot all her grudges and soaked in the warmth of his bare chest. “Nikolas,” she breathed, her heart pounding inside her ribcage as a strange sense of satisfaction engulfed her heart and she pressed herself closer to him. Nikolas tightened his hold upon her while she kissed the warm skin on his neck. A shudder went down his body and he groaned with a need so intense that he lost all semblance of self-control. He picked her up in his arms, his movements swift, agile and powerful. Brooklyn was too dazed to react. The need to kiss him, to prove to him that she was much better than any other woman was so strong that she snaked her arm around his neck. Holding his cheek with the other, she showered his jawline with small nips, bites, and kisses. Nikolas’s breath hitched and it was obvious that his mind and body went into overdrive, wanting nothing but to embed himself deep inside her.
