Brooklyn tried hard to accept the fact that Nikolas might be with a woman and enjoying himself while she was unnecessarily worrying about him. He had changed! As far as she remembered, he didn’t like the company of any other woman. So was he having a physical relationship with someone just because she had denied him? So was this just a physical attraction between them? Maybe he didn’t love her the way she did. Maybe his definition of love was different from her own!

As the minutes ticked by Brooklyn started boiling with jealousy and anger. How could he have a fling and yet force her to live with him in the same room, on the same bed? She would have shifted to her old room if it hadn’t been for the twins.

Nikolas frowned upon hearing her outburst. “I have no idea who you’re talking about. If you want to sleep with me, tell me so. I’ll gladly oblige,” he said, his face softening a little.“No, I have no wish to sleep with you. I’m sure you have other women to jump at the idea. I’m not one of them,” said Brooklyn, her eyes flashing with anger. A distressed Sally emerged from her room after hearing voices in the nursery. She paled considerably seeing Nikolas right inside the nursery.“Brooklyn, I insist that you go back to your room. I’m here with the twins,” said Sally to please Nikolas.“Yes, and if you refuse, I’m afraid that I would have to carry you there myself,” threatened Nikolas. Brooklyn’s eyes widened a

Seeing him after a whole day, Brooklyn forgot all her grudges and soaked in the warmth of his bare chest. “Nikolas,” she breathed, her heart pounding inside her ribcage as a strange sense of satisfaction engulfed her heart and she pressed herself closer to him. Nikolas tightened his hold upon her while she kissed the warm skin on his neck. A shudder went down his body and he groaned with a need so intense that he lost all semblance of self-control. He picked her up in his arms, his movements swift, agile and powerful. Brooklyn was too dazed to react. The need to kiss him, to prove to him that she was much better than any other woman was so strong that she snaked her arm around his neck. Holding his cheek with the other, she showered his jawline with small nips, bites, and kisses. Nikolas’s breath hitched and it was obvious that his mind and body went into overdrive, wanting nothing but to embed himself deep inside her.

A worried Nikolas searched for the packet of condo*s that he had stashed away somewhere the day he brought Brooklyn back with him. However, his mind didn’t agree to this as she hadn’t healed properly after childbirth. He didn’t want to hurt her but then if he denied her, she might misunderstand him again. Clearly, in a dilemma, Nikolas picked up a fresh set of underwear and a pair of sweatpants and pulled them on. He would have to explain to Brooklyn that they couldn’t make love till she had completely healed. He was about to walk out of the closet when his glance fell upon a laptop. Curious, he checked the brand new device, having never seen it before. Was it Brooklyn’s? Where did it come from? He had never seen her using it before. Brooklyn’s kiss was like the magical elixir Nikolas needed to live. He was powerless to resist it and eagerly opened his mouth to allow her in. His fingers caught her head to dominate the hungry and passionate kiss while his other hand crushed her soft body into his chest. They were so lost in one another that they hardly noticed Hailey quietly leaving the office. After a minute, when Nikolas’s mouth released hers, Brooklyn’s face flushed with embarrassment realizing what she had done. She eagerly looked around but didn’t see the woman for whom she had taken so much pain. Nikolas looked at her with amusement in his eyes.“I had no idea that you missed me so much,” he said, his lips still tingling from the kiss. Brooklyn was acutely aware of his gaze upon her and she felt all the more shy, unable to look him in the

Brooklyn gaped at him with horror. Did he just threaten to end his life if she left him? “You’re misunderstanding me as always. Why would I want to have an affair with someone else when I'm so madly in love with you?” Asked Nikolas as if it pained him to even talk about it. Brooklyn stared at him, not what to say. “But..” she started looking more puzzled than ever before. “Shh, not a word more. I’ll explain myself to you for the last time. Listen once and for all and then decide what you want to do,” said Nikolas, his face solemn and his eyes wide and probing as they stared back at her with sincerity. “Hailey isn’t my girlfriend as you have concluded, Brooklyn. She’s five years older than Bruce and two years older than me. We both have always looked up to her as our older sister. I’ve known Bruce’s fa

Brooklyn slowly shook her head as her cheeks stained with color. He grinned, determined to have his way later. He picked up the twins one by one, saying baby words to them as he handed them over to her. It was totally a new experience for him, something that he was enjoying doing. He gazed at the way his babies sucked at her ni*ples and a warm tenderness filled his heart. He realized what he had been missing for so long. Sitting beside her, he stroked their heads lovingly.“They were really hungry!” He gasped seeing them suck hungrily.“Yeah, Sally skipped a feed when I was away. I had expressed their milk but she didn’t give it to them,” said Brooklyn, angrily.“It’s good that she’s gone,” said Nikolas. His glance fell upon Brooklyn’s cre

Kathy smiled at her.“The laundry is done. You could take them to your room, Brooklyn,” said Kathy. Her hands were already full and Brooklyn was glad to be able to help her.“I’ll get them. After having waited for hours, Brooklyn was excited to hear Nikolas’s voice downstairs, talking to Kathy. ‘He’s here, he’s here,’ her heart sang with glee. She sat in the nursery, feeding the twins and waiting impatiently for him to come upstairs. What was taking him so long? After five minutes, Nikolas peered inside the nursery, looking for her. The moment his eyes connected to hers, he flashed a dazzling smile at her. At that moment, everything ceased to exist around them and a look full of promises passed between them. He came closer and leaned in to plant a small kiss on her lips. Ellie left the room to give them some privacy.“Are you happy to see me home early?” he asked, pulling a chair to sit beside her.“Yes, so, did you throw your clients out and

Ryder noted the possessive gesture but he preferred to ignore it altogether.“Why should I talk to you? I’m sure Brooklyn can speak for herself,” said Ryder, standing in front of her.“I have nothing to say to you, Ryder. I’m sorry that you and Amy couldn’t make it together. Fifteen minutes later, Brooklyn, helped by the two attendants, walked down towards the wedding arch created on the other side of the koi pond. Kathy and Ellie had got the twins ready in their tux rompers and pushed their strollers, following Brooklyn to the wedding venue. Brooklyn gasped seeing the huge crowd waiting to witness the wedding. She smiled at them as she knew most of them. They were all Nikolas’s employees around the estate and office. Her eyes searched for Brandon. She had heard him a little while ago. Had he not arrived yet?“Hey, Brooks! Looking for me? I’m right here to walk you down the aisle. I’m older to you after all!” said Brandon as he came up behind her, looking dashing in a dark charcoal tuxedo. Brooklyn’s face brightened up with a dazzling smile.“Only by 2 minutes, Brand. “Sleep tight tonight, daddy needs to play with your mommy,” whispered Nikolas, leaning closer to the twins as she fed them. Brooklyn rolled her eyes. So no wedding night for us, then,” she reminded him.“Still, we’ll make the most of it,” he said, staring deeply into her eyes with a promise of lots of car*al pleasure for later. The thought of it made her heart skip a beat. She couldn’t believe that by tonight she’d be a married woman, she’d be Nikolas’s wife. She hadn’t thought the day would come so soon.
