“Ryder? What are you doing here at this hour?” She gasped with shock. Ryder looked angrier and stormed inside the house, brushing past her. Brooklyn whirled around to face him, feeling disturbed by his presence. 

“What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you so hell-bent on resigning from the job? Can’t you understand your own good? You don’t need to dance to Nikolas’s tunes, Brooklyn.
