Chapter Seventy-One

Brooklyn’s heart started thundering in her chest, ready to jump out of its ribcage. Why was he coming towards her when he should be going to the other side of the bed to sleep? “Sleep there, not with me,” said Brooklyn, seeing him approach her.

“If I sleep, I’ll sleep beside you. What if I crush my babies in the middle of the night?” Asked Nikolas a little worriedly. 

“You won’t,” assured Brooklyn but Nikolas was adamant and lay down right beside her, pulling out a spare pillow for himself. 

“I’m sleeping here. Tomorrow we’ll go home. I’ll ask Kathy to get cribs for the twins,” said Nikolas, breathing into her neck. Brooklyn shifted as much as possible to make space for him on the king-sized bed. His hot breath on her neck
