Chapter 24

The next day, just as Blake had predicted, Jennifer came to the hospital early in the morning. However, she didn't come alone.

I stared at the two men who had followed Jennifer into the ward. They were carrying many gifts, and judging by the packaging, the items must be quite expensive.

I had recently met one of the men, and that man was none other than Jenna's father. The other man looked extremely like Jenna's father but with a stern look on his bespectacled face. I surmised that the two must be brothers.

Sure enough, when Nigel spoke up, my guesses were confirmed. He put on a pleasing smile as he held the items in his hands. He sounded like he was trying to get on Blake's good side when he spoke. He felt completely different from the man I had met that day.

"Mr. Wagner, my brother and I are here today mainly to offer our apologies. This isn't much, but I hope you'll accept it anyway." The two immediately tried to place the gifts on the table.
