Chapter 29

I slipped into my role quickly. I was here to care for Blake, so that was what I would do.

After a hasty lunch, I insisted Blake take a nap, which he did reluctantly.

I took some time to clear up the remnants of our takeaway. Then, I cleaned the refrigerator as well, throwing out expired or inedible items.

After cleaning up, I looked around. Even though the apartment was large, it was quite clean. There was only a light scattering of dust despite it being deserted for quite some time. I cleaned the rest of the apartment as well.

When I was done cleaning up the apartment, I called the school. I wasn't sure what was going to happen after this, but the school happily gave me another week off.

Reassured that I was free from work, I left the apartment. Blake's apartment had a smart doorlock that unlocked with a password, which he had told me earlier.

That afternoon, I familiarized myself with the neighborhood. I even bought some groceries according to the meal plan, which I had spent
