"What?" I say out loud, my eyes going round as I turn around to face him.

He chuckles, his pearly whites on display as he wraps his arms around my waist.

"You heard me," he says. "I bought this house for you."

I part my lips to speak, but words escape me as I hold my breath, processing what's going on. I turn around to look at the house before me and I can only cover my mouth in shock.

Even as he affectionately kisses my cheek, I can only close my eyes, still unable to find my words.

Then, I inhale deeply, my vision a little blurry as I open my eyes.

"You're free to do whatever you want with this house. It's all up to you, because it's yours."

"Babe..." I trail off, my voice a little shaky.

He holds me tighter, resting his chin on my head. "You deserve only the best. I told you I had more planned for you when I got you that car."
