Chapter 97

Various news stations carried the information relating to Richard and his wife. It was no news to him. That was the world he found himself in, and most times, he found himself wondering if he loved that life.

“For once, I want to be normal”, he thought silently as a deep sigh escaped his lips.

The door to his bedroom creaked open and Barbara poked her face into the room.

“They believed our story. You should be glad I came around to help”, Barbara said with a proud smile.

“Why? What exactly is your reason for all of these? Isn’t the fame you’ve acquired enough for you? Why do you want more attention in our lives?” Richard asked, with a visible look of frustration in his eyes.

Barbara laughed aloud and kept mute. He was right after all. She had done that, not only because she wanted to punish him and make him return from the Maldives, but because she wanted to trend in the news.
