Chapter 98

“Hey goddess”, Richard’s fierce and yet, soft voice, came from behind the door.

Emily stayed still, frozen and shocked to her bones. She didn’t seem to be expecting Richard, although he had told her that he would see her later.

“Emily?” Richard called out again, knocking on the door impatiently and turning the door knob that remained locked.

Emily sniffled and sluggishly walked towards the door. She leaned on the door, with tears trickling down her eyes.

“Go away, Richard! I want to avoid seeing you”, she said with every strength she could find within her.

Her voice failed her because the words that came off her mouth spoke of great want and desire.

“You are lying to me. Remember, I don’t like being lied to”, Richard quickly replied, with a sharp and haggard breath.

“Don’t delay me, Emily. Open up!” Richard called out, banging the door as though he were going to pull it down.

“Fine! What do you want?” Emily opened the door and quickly rushed to her bed.
