127: Dark side

Elaine’s POV

The relief that washed over me was palpable. I didn't have to explain anything to Killian. He knew I was a wolf. The secret I had feared revealing was now out in the open, and it felt like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

I headed to the bathroom, feeling a sense of lightness I hadn't experienced in a long time. The hot water cascaded over me, washing away the remnants of fear and uncertainty. I allowed myself to enjoy the sensation, knowing that Killian accepted me fully, just as I was.

After my shower, I wrapped a towel around myself and headed back to the bedroom. I could hear the faint clinking of dishes as Killian cleaned up our breakfast plates. A smile tugged at my lips; it was such a domestic, normal scene, and yet it filled me with a deep sense of contentment.
