Chapter 61

I got out of the cab after paying the driver. I looked at the metal gates in front of me and took a deep breath. “Welcome, Mr Carter.” Guard on the gate greeted me and let me in. I looked around the garden and it was decorated with fairy lights, white ribbons and lanterns. I walked all the way to the front doors of the mansion and I was sure it took me whole 10 minutes. I skipped through the front doors that were open for me obviously. I made my way to the living room and a guy was sprawled on the couch. I cleared my throat to gain his attention. He looked up from the phone he was using, at me and sat up. "You must be Noah." He smiled and walked over to me. "Umm... yeah and you?" I questioned, trying to remember if Ryan told me about having a brother or cousin brother coming over. "Name's Shawn. Shawn Brandon." He extended his arm, making me remember. So, this is Shawn, his best friend, who manages his business. He didn’t look much of

I thanked my sixth sense that already warned me how busy Ryan would be at his birthday party. That's one of the reasons I gave his present before the party started but that was just not it. I wanted to do something else as well. I was nervous but I just wanted to try it. What could go wrong other than me embarrassing the fuck out of me? I spent most of the time with Lilac and Lyla. I realized that Lyla was only against my relationship because Ryan was already in a mess and she cared for him. She told me that she was happy that Ryan found someone like me who just loved him, not just one thing that comes with him but whole him. She further said that she would like to be the one to officiate our wedding which freaked me out a bit because our wedding was not something we have ever thought about. I mean, I was just 17 turning 18 in a month? "I'm tired!" Lyla whined as soon as Shawn approached him and jumped on him, wrapping her limbs around him. "I think we should

Chapter 63

It had been another week since Ryan’s birthday and in that span of period I received few more of the pictures and they were of the New Year party when Ryan and I were in the car. First thing I wondered was why didn’t they send me those pictures first but then I realized that it was hard to make Ryan’s face in that picture. Though you could tell it was Ryan but it took a very observing eye to recognize him. So, I concluded that maybe that was the reason because they wanted to properly scare me and I was scared. I wanted to tell Ryan but I couldn’t. I was afraid of his reaction too. If this was going to send up blown away in our faces then I wanted every last second of it. Yeah, it was selfish but I couldn’t process without him. I needed him with me. But then guilt always washed over me in the night that I would probably be suspended but Ryan would go straight to the jail for this act. He teaching license would be taken and not only that, the bad words would be

Chapter 64

I threw my bag in the foyer before running upstairs, trying to hold the tears that were threatening to leave my eyes since I saw those pictures. I didn’t know who was stalking us but they sure were doing a great job at it. If I were alright, my first thought would be to brush my teeth and rinse my mouth with mouthwash after puking but I didn’t care at the moment. I flopped down face first on the bed and cried my eyes out because that’s all I could do then. I couldn’t lose him. Not after everything we have been through. We were going so strong. I didn’t have it in me to think of a day without him. Thinking of a day without Ryan in it was like eating fries without ketchup… even worse. The point is Ryan added the taste, the colors to my life and he was so important to me. Not because he made me feel alive but because between all of this back and forth with each other, we really found the out that we complete each other. I heard my phone ringing which pul

Chapter 65

A week later and whoever that was, never replied to my text. I kept questioning myself if they were planning on revealing my big secret or they left me alone for good. Well, whatever it was, it would eventually come out. Few days were left until my birthday and I was planning on telling my parents about my relationship a day after my birthday. Those pictures being out meant, this relationship could be exposed any moment so, I wanted my parents to know that before they find out from another source. “Baby, help me with these.” Ryan called me from the kitchen. His groceries have just been delivered and he was arranging them in the fridge while I was watching Disney movies. Ever since I have got my sight, I couldn’t stop watching TV. It was so fascinating to me. Even camera lens did better job than my eyes… huh! I paused the movie I was watching. Even though I knew what was going to happen because I had read the book and heard audio book several times but

The next few hours spent watching the Disney movies from the collection Ryan bought for me. Yep, he was literally spoiling me and getting himself in trouble but as much as he denied, he was really into those movies. From time to time, I heard his little giggles and his little comments on few scenes. He didn’t know but I caught him wiping off the tears at one point by side glancing. He was so into it that I had to call him three times to get his attention and even when I caught his attention, he handed me the snacks while his eyes still locked on the screen. So much for acting like a mature tough guy. It was already 5 in the evening when we were done watching. I had to head back home because it was school night. Though I had my stuff here with me in his house, my mother strictly told me to get back home before 6. I didn’t want to upset her any more than she was. “I have to head home now.” I said, collecting the mess we created around us. The juice bott

Chapter 67

I was sitting in the café with Mateo trying to pass the lunch break. After those pictures, I had stopped visiting Ryan in his office because we weren’t hidden anymore. The question was who took those photos because I distinctively remember that curtains of the window that opens out in the football ground was closed and the picture looked like it was taken from that angle. The only explanation was if someone had placed the camera there at some point or opened the window from the outside. “Noah, where’s your phone?” I heard Jessica who was walking to the table Mat and I were sitting at. “In the bag.” I answered her with a frown on my face. “Well, Mr Brown is calling you in his office. He said he tried your phone but you didn’t answer.” She said, sitting beside Mateo who looked glum today. He was suspiciously very quiet. “Oh… it’s on silent. I’ll go see him.” I informed her before standing up to leave. I knew he would ask me as to why I was avoid

“Jackson?! Why would he ask you that?” I was totally baffled by this news. “He knows Mr Brown’s wife. I don’t know what the relation is but they are related in some way. I think she asked him to take those pictures of you and him.” “How do you know he took pictures? I’m sorry, I’m so confused here. Tell me what happened?” “Well, Atkinson came to me and asked if I was the one who was assigned to clean Mr Brown’s office and when I told him yes, he asked me to leave the window open because Mr Brown asked him to do that for him. I was confused but I didn’t suspect and left the window open. During the lunch break, I saw him sneakily taking a camera with him. I followed him and watched him take pictures from the opened window. I caught him red handed and when I peeked inside, I understood what he was taking pictures of. I asked him to delete those pictures and he told him that Mr Brown’s wife need those pictures. Knowing that the big names were getting involved, I

Two days and I still didn’t answer that text and nor did she texted me about what she wanted from me. If she wanted something, she had to say it. I wasn’t going to sweat about it now. It was Saturday and I wasn’t at Ryan’s because he went to see his family in Bradford. His little sister really wanted to see him and this time I felt very bad to hold him up. He couldn’t take leave during the working days because exams were near which was also becoming a headache for me as my mother was pressuring me to study instead of spending weekends at my boyfriend’s. If she knew how much it calmed me to be with him and only he could help me come over this exam fever. “Hey, bro.” I heard Mateo’s voice that made me snap out of the thoughts. I was at his place because he wasn’t feeling well for quite a time now and he wanted to talk to me about it. His parents made us keep the door open which was weird to hear but we went with it. They also did me weird looks as it was the fi

Chapter 70

“About that… you can see that Haley isn’t attending school for last few days. I wanted to come up with something so disturbing that would make her cry but I thought that would like going down to meet her level so I just followed her to a supermarket and when she bought the conditioner, I tricked her into leaving her cart and go get other things. Then, I emptied her conditioner bottle and filled it with super glue. Your welcome.” He ended the speech as if he couldn’t be more proud of himself. “MATEO! What in the… are you sure you’re not twelve?” I was literally freaked out by this. “What?! You didn’t like it?” He looked so confused that I didn’t like his major evil plan. Of course, I didn’t. “When you said you wanted to teach her a lesson, I thought you’d do something to teach her a life lesson. I didn’t know you’d superglue her hair together.” I huffed, rolling my eyes. “I thought of that but this was more fun. Her hair glued together and then she had
