Chapter 71

"Oh, hey, Noah." I turned around when I heard a familiar voice. It was Lyla. "Hi" I beamed and extended my hand. She took it gently and shook it. She glanced at my mother and then I realized that I was at a store shopping grocery with my mother. "Um... this... this is my mother." I introduced her. "Mum, this... umm... this is-" Lyla cut me off. "I'm his teacher." She said hurriedly. Mum looked confused. She glanced back and forth between me and Lyla. "Oh, hi!" Mum shook her hand and gave her a smile. "So, what do you teach him?" She asked Lyla who stood there looking at me with wide eyes. "Umm... Literature." She spoke, silently asking me for help. "Mum, she is here to buy stuff, just like we are, let's not disturb her." I tried to divert mum's attention from her but she was my mum, curious. "How is he in Literature?" she asked her and ignored me like I wasn't standing there. "I... uhmm... I think he mus

Chapter 72

"Let's get over with this" he gave a light squeeze to my hand before we entered the living room. All of their heads snapped up and Ryan's hand turned colder as if he wasn't ice before. "Hey, Mr Brown!" Jessica was the first one to greet and I was thankful that out of all the other idiots she actually spoke something to make him feel relieved. I could feel the tension leaving his muscles. He cleared his throat. "Hello, Ms Dean." His voice wasn't most confident but I was happy he tried. I dragged him to where Eva was sitting and ignored the way Jacob, Anna and Isaac were staring at Ryan because they had no clue till now that I was dating our literature teacher. Mateo had told them before the party but they thought he was pulling a prank on them. "This is my sister, Eva. Eva, this my boyfriend, Ryan." I introduced them and I knew he was nervous about meeting her, after what she did when she found out that millionaire, Ryan Brown, was my boyfriend. Eva st

Chapter 73

I woke up, legs tangled with Ryan's and head on his chest. I pulled away and got out of sheets. It was the first time I woke up before Ryan. I ran to the bathroom to do my morning business. After getting dressed in clean clothes, I sat beside Ryan's peaceful looking body. I brushed the fringes off his face and leaned down to place a kiss on his forehead. He stirred and grabbed my hand that was stroking his cheek. He kissed it and placed it on his chest before wrapping his arms around it. I chuckled. "Wake up, it's my birthday." I whispered in his ear and kissed his earlobe. "That's why be nice and let me sleep." He mumbled, pulling me down and placing my head on his chest. "I'm hungry. I need cinnamon rolls for breakfast." I demanded and tried to get him up. He groaned and turned, shoving me away. "Oi!" I kicked him on the back. "I hate you, Noah!" He growled getting out of the bed. "I love you more." I told him, laughing.

Chapter 74

"Noah..." He looked at me with horror struck face. I would've laughed if the situation wasn't so serious. "Yeah?" I asked him, with an amused look on my face. "Are you sure about this?" He questioned, scratching the back of his neck with trembling fingers. I had never seen him so scared before. "Ryan, my family is human like me, they aren't some aliens." I chuckled. He gave me a bored look, reaching for the keys. "C'mon chill. They'll love you." I assured him. He stood froze in his position, hand reaching for the car keys, still in air. He took a deep breath before grabbing the keys and turned around to face me. "If they throw me out and reject me, I'm kidnapping you." He spoke, walking out of the front doors, making me speed up to keep up with his pace. "Well, then there's a strong chance of it, if you ask me." I walked alongside him now and shrugged. He glanced at me with eyes same as size of a baseball. I knew I was just increasing

Chapter 75

I was so scared and didn’t stop pacing around my room which now had a pink theme and would what society define as “Princess or Girly theme”. But that’s not what I cared about that time. Not that I cared about it at all. I was just worried because I couldn’t hear my mother scream. I didn’t know if it was a good thing or bad. There was a probability that she had kicked out Ryan and was preparing herself for the restrictions she was gonna put on me. But knowing my mother if Ryan wasn’t at home, she would have come straight up the stairs to yell at me. I sat on the bed but the silence in the house my eating me up. I wanted to eavesdrop on the conversation but my mother would literally get angrier so I decided to just wait impatiently for her to raise her voice so I could get the excuse to go down but that didn’t happen as I heard her. “Noah, come down.” Her voice made me shot up from my position as I sprinted downstairs without taking a second to breathe. Chapter 76

Once he was gone, I went to Eva’s room to talk to her. She was leaving today for the college so she was sleeping like a dead body. I didn’t care. I wanted to talk to her. I knocked on the door but knowing she was asleep I barged in because if she wasn’t asleep she would’ve been there when mum was arguing with Ryan. “Eva, wake up.” I shook her body but she put her head under the pillow to block me out. I kept shouting until she huffed and sat up. “What is it, Noah?” She scowled, looking at me like she wanted to murder me. “Ryan met mother today.” I sat at the feet of the bed. Her sloppy head straightened and she was attentive just like that. “How did it go?” She asked but judging by her expressions I knew she had an idea how it went. “Mum forced him to break up with me and said she’d take legal actions if he didn’t leave me.” I sighed, looking down at my hands on the lap. “I knew she’d react like this. I knew she would never acc

Chapter 77

The next day, early in the morning I woke up to my mother shouting at Eva. I didn’t know what it was about so I didn’t even try to eavesdrop on the argument. Eva seemed very pissed at mum for some reason. I had never heard her talk to mother like that and it was quite shocking. I could hear Dad trying to jump into the argument to save both the ladies to go any further but it wasn’t helping much. I sighed and got out of my bed. My sleep was already ruined so there was no point in slipping back under the duvet. I was planning on going to school early so I could eat something on the way because I hadn’t gone down to have lunch last night to show mum how pissed I was at her. Well, she didn’t even asked twice. When I was all ready for school and was grabbing my wallet, my house keys and my phone, it beeped. Every time my phone had a notification my heart started pumping blood faster than before. I took a breath to calm down before turning on the phone and looking

I heard him sigh and then he kissed the top of my head, lingering his lips there and mumbling “Me too, baby.” He pulled back and pushed me gently away just enough to have a proper look at my face. He wiped off all the tears before leaning down to kiss me. A smile pulled upon my lips before his lips crashed against mine and just like that everything faded. We got lost in our bubble like always and nothing around us mattered anymore. We were the only two in our little world where the nature always celebrated when we were together, birds sang and fireworks exploded in the sky. Butterflies danced in our stomachs to the melody that was inaudible to everyone but us. It was like a celebration of love and union of two lovers. He detached our lips to breathe but then again pressed them back to my lips but this time without moving them. He just kept them still and pressed to my lips. Few seconds later, he broke them apart but only to leave few pecks on my lips before completel

Chapter 79

I decided to walk back home, rejecting Mateo’s offer to drive me back home. I wanted the time to think about everything that unfolded in the last two months. Looking back at it right now made me realize that I actually lived 20 years in the last two months.   I reached home taking an extra 20 minutes as I kept my pace slow and grabbed a cup of coffee from a café on my way back. I needed some caffeine in my body or I knew I wouldn’t be able to function. I went straight to my room without eating anything. The first thing I did after entering my room and throwing my bag on the bed was to grab the photo album that Ryan gifted me from under my clothes in the closet.   I sat on the bed before I opened the album and stared at the first ever picture he had taken of me. It was me sitting on the patio in his mansion and smiling at nothing in particular. I could see that my eyes held no shine at that time. They were just plain green. I could clearly se

Chapter 80

“Crime is a crime.” She gave me a look. I was literally done. I sighed and leaned back on the headboard for support. I couldn’t believe that this conversation was going in circles. “Mum, your work is done. If your objective was to fry up my brain with this ‘your relationship is illegal’ shit, then you’ve accomplished your mission. Congratulations.” I said and turned my face to look away from her. Just looking at her was making me cry. “My objective was to guide you but it seems like you’ve literally made up your mind that I’ve something against you. You are my son, Noah and I can’t see you fall in a dark pit but if you want me to respect your decision then fine. Do whatever you want to do. My job was to tell you the difference between right and wrong, now it’s up to you.” Her voice was low and I could tell that she was hurt by my words. “Don’t break up with him if you don’t want to but do me a favor, make him change his profession as soon as you can.
