[30] A Call from Tokyo

“There are boys out there Kaya.” He whispered lowly, “Ones that deserve you,” he added, fingers still brushing mine, “then they are beasts,” his jaw clenched when he said this moving closer so my breath hitched, “ones that can hurt you.” “And I don’t want to see you get hurt.”   The words echoed in my mind as I sat cross-legged on Ally's bed the book I had gotten from my confusing thief friend in my hands.  I could feel Ally’s eyes on me, watching me closely. Her mouth open from all I had just told her. I wasn’t going to allow myself to be confused all alone when I had a bestie to drown my worries in right? I glanced up at her, "so?” I dragged, “Aren’t you going to say anything?" She paused, lifting her jaw up as she slightly gulped, her fingers twisting around one of her braids, "I hope- he doesn't kiss your sister next?” she asked, seemingly at a complete loss of word. My winded at her answer, "Al

[31] Caleb

Kaya's POV Honestly, I never expected much would come out of this new week, it started really dull and boring and I was sure that was the same way it would end, despite Friday being the best day of the week. I slipped out of class waiting outside the doors for Ally, leaning against the door as I watched students leave class, my eyes trailing down the hallway spying on everyone coming out of their perspective classes, whilst I hummed, then stopped when I caught a glimpse of Khloe’s shiny perfect blond hair, Mr. Jerk Face, and friend... And of course, the ever-charming Alessia as they appeared down the hallway. It had long been established by now that Khloe was part of the popular three, and was dating Azian, after all, they would hold hands and walk down the hallway like the golden couple they were. The perfect girl and the perfect boy.  She sat with them every lunch, made it a point to sneak kisses on him here and there especially when s

Legions POV “Where is he?” I growled out, already feeling a nervous sweat coming on, as I run a hand through my hair, Caleb helping me throw my blazer on, “he’s waiting in the hallways,” he replied, and I turned to face him, studying his every move, knowing I would catch a lie in an instant, “and he just appeared out of the blue?” I huffed, my jaw clenching. “Yes,” Caleb replied, his eyes honest, I grunted at this, my fists clenching, “Fuck, he knows.” I trailed off keeping my fingers in my hair. “It’s too early to know for sure, your father’s informants come around every few years,” Caleb replied but I shot him down quickly, “but this isn’t a lousy informant now is it? Fathers' cards have changed, so if he sent his guardian then he must be suspicious,” I snapped. “I understand your worries, but that will not help us at the moment,” Caleb replied, “The best we can do for now is act normally, my prince.” I looked back at

[33] The Visit

Kaya's POV My fingers trembled a little, making me form a fist to keep my cool as I stood in the shadow of the large gate that towered over both Ally and me like the gates of hell themselves. I could feel Ally visibly shiver beside me causing me to side-glance her way, just to make sure she was at least braver than the way I was feeling at the moment, "this-this is where he lives?” she stuttered, sounding very unconvinced.  My shaky fingers took out the piece of paper from my pocket rechecking the address, "yep,” I replied with mocking enthusiasm, “according to this, he does.” I handed the paper over to her upon her wordless request, her eyes gazing over the address once more, then glancing at the house number curved majestically on a plaque by the stones wall, sighing as she crumbled it in her fists, glancing at me momentarily,  “I have a bad feeling about this." She didn’t have to tell me twice. This whole thing s

[34] The Box

Kaya's POV "You've had enough Kaya,” Ally said as I gulped the remainder of the red grape juice I had out in a glass. I let out a satisfied ‘ah’ before sliding it over the counter back to her, "Keep em coming," I dragged, as it slid right into her grasp. She rolled her eyes, reaching out for the bottle of red grape juice pouring me another glass. We were currently back at Ally's house, and I was drinking what was left of all my sorrows away in her kitchen. It was a grace that Ally's mom and Dad had gone for their anniversary dinner so that left Ally alone for the time being and spared me curious stares from Aunt Kathy. I was not in the mood to start reliving memories I had just made an hour ago, especially not the ones of rejection that Legion had left inside me. "This is the last cup though," Ally warned, sliding the half-full glass back to me before closing the remained of the juice and locking it up in the fridge. "I wish I was dru

[35] Obey

AZIANS POV I woke up to the sound of a gentle rattle. My eyelids fluttered open, a wave of gentleness eloped around the calmest silence I had ever experienced. The first thing I saw was her. My little human. I stared blankly at her, sleeping peacefully across me in the front seat, her chest falling and rising in the calmest motions. Her soft brown straight hair falling down the side of her face. I stared at her peaceful face, breathing slowly out, and for a moment I felt I was stuck in a place where time and space didn’t matter or make any sense. My eyes studying every inch of her face. It definitely was her, my little human from the subway, my little human from my dreams. There was no mistaking it. My gaze suddenly dropped to the light tingles dancing across my skin, my eyebrows furrowing at the sight of her hand over mine, energy flowing through them, that made my heart skip a beat, my eyes snapping up to the window at th

[36] Beasts Be Sorry

LEGIONS POV. The curtains swayed gently in the breeze as my deadly gaze focused on the scene below. The peaceful silence that was in the garden was all that soothed me, yet somehow I could feel like the overgrown hedges and the bright flowers were wilting under my gaze as if even nature itself despise me.  It wasn’t that hard to believe as I was fighting a similar feeling to hate myself. That face. The look on that face. I breathed out trying to ease myself. Xeric needed soothing, He needed to be calm, calm the storm inside of us threatening to come out.  Tame the beast. That was all that was racing through my mind as I kept my eyes focused on the peace and serenity below. He wanted to come out, he wanted to wreck something, and what Xeric wanted he got.  Only he couldn't kill his host. I believe that’s what irritated him most. That his greatest enemy at the moment was me, and he coul

[37] Day After

Kaya’s POV Peace. Calm.  I had never felt this free before as I opened my eyes and soaked in the gentle rays of the sun peeking through the light curtains of my bedroom window. It was another day, which meant another chance to live. Cheesy I know, but so often we forget about the little pleasures of life, like breathing. Suddenly bolting up in bed, my eyes widened when the memories of last night came flooding in like an unwanted dream. “Oh My Gosh, oh no, oh no, oh no,” I shook my head, my hand over my mouth. What the hell did I do last night? Who was I with? Azian? Had I actually spent a night with the AZIAN KING? No, i-I couldn’t have but yet that was the last memory lingering in my mind. I could remember everything and yet somehow I ended up understanding nothing at all. My eyes glazed over and I felt slightly dizzy, rubbing the sides of my head for sweet relief. I turned slightly when I heard the door click open, watching as Aunt

[38] No Apologies

KAYA'S POV The day flew by uneventfully. Same old. Apart from feeling Legion's annoying eyes on me during science and the usual cheerful laughter of Khloe at the Lunch high table, it was quite the same. By nightfall, I was fully exhausted. I finished up all my homework and allowed myself to finally go to sleep. Unlike yesterday I did actually sleep well. The rest of the week was the same as the Monday it started with, dull. Completely Dull. Days went by till I could finally smell the sweet air of Friday. The happiest and most spectacular day of the week. I planned so much to do this weekend. Well technically I planned to binge-watch a few shows and then follow it up with a trip to the library to brush up on the supernatural, after all, I still had to help Ally solve her mystery. It was funny, but her theories didn’t seem as farfetched as I initially thought. There were a lot of things that didn’t add up in Torent I realized but I kne

[39] Sisters

KAYA'S POV "Kaya, get in, we don’t have all day!” Ally huffed. I heard a shuffling, her face coming into sight as she leaned against the car, “ hello?” she hummed, “ what are you looking at?-“ she stopped he eyes turning to see what it was that had hooked my attention, “ Isn’t that your father?" Ally asked pausing slightly. It was then I realized she actually hadn’t seen him since I came to Torent. My eyes trailed back to her nodding feeling my eyes become a little stingy, “My Dad came all this way and it wasn’t for me, it was to see her,” I said softly, my eyes trailing back to the two for a second studying them. “C’mon Kaya, don’t beat yourself over this, I’m sure he came for the both of you,” Ally encouraged. I scoffed at this, about to turn around when our eyes met, “oh no,” I whispered underneath my breath. “What?” Ally asked, her eyebrows drawing together. His dark welcoming chocolate eyes lit up, his smile seemed to act
