Evan's P. O. V After school, I went home and waited in my room patiently. The doorbell rang all of a sudden so I jumped up. It must be her.  "You are late," I said irritably.

Evan's P.O.V.Saturday night came and I felt anxious. Wasn't Annie supposed to go on a date with Brent? Why was I nervous? Why do I care in the first place? Even me. But every time I saw new bruises on Annie's face, I knew immediately that her bitch mother had something to do with it. And the other day, Annie slipped and told me about her mother hitting her for breaking the old pair of glasses. Even though I was the one responsible, she got punished for it.
