Evan's P.O.V.
"Excuse me, but I quit!"
I stared at the terrified teenage girl who thought she was brave enough to make this kind of statement and get away with it even though I was the biggest bully in school. Where did she find her courage? No matter, I am about to squash her like a little bitty bug.
"You quit?" I said in a condescending tone. "Is that what you are doing?"
"Y...yes...I won't be doing your homework anymore o...or any other chores," she said. Her voice was shaking uncontrollably. I almost felt sorry for her.
Almost...but not really.
I moved closer to her and grabbed her shoulders then pulled her towards me. The movement was so sudden that her glasses almost fell off her face. I could see her eyes go wide underneath those thick glasses. Yes, be scared little one.
"I never gave you that choice little hamster, you don't get to quit unless I decide that you can!" I sneered.
"B..but..but..Evan," she was a mumbling mess. What happened to the courage she showed ten minutes ago?
"No buts, now go get me a soda from the vending machine," I ordered. "And two bags of chips. Chop, chop, I don't got all day."
"NO! I won't! It's over, I am leaving. You can't keep bossing me around," she cried and yanked herself free from my grasp, then ran away before I could stop her. Damn...she was really serious about this, huh?
"The fuck..."I cursed out loud. What is with her?
Evan's flashback...
When I first laid my eyes on Annie Fisher, I knew she was perfect. Perfect to be my personal maid. She had a small round face which was mostly covered by a pair of thick glasses. She had a head full of hair which she always tied up in two fishtail braids. Her clothing choice was rather questionable. Not like the other girls in my school who always worried about wearing trendy clothes. Best of all, she was just tiny. She reminded me of a hamster, hence the nickname.
When I saw how weak and nerdy she was I knew she was the perfect girl to order around. All I had to do was threatened her a few times and she did everything I told her to do. She was actually kind of cute that way. I knew no guy was interested in her at school because she was so meek and nerdy which made her the perfect victim.
Of course, it wasn't entirely because she was spineless and weak. I had a reputation as a bully in this school. Most people were scared of me so it was a piece of cake to control her. No one ever did anything to help her. Poor, poor Annie Fisher.
I have been making her do my chores for almost a month now. She never stood up to me once, until today. I had to find out what's going on with her so I can fix it then we can go back to our regular relationship where I get to order her around. This just won't do. I enjoyed bossing her around too much.
You can't run away from me forever little hamster, I'll get you tomorrow. I looked forward to it.
End of flashback.
The next day, I grabbed her and pushed her against the lockers. How dare she run away from me yesterday? It's punishment time for the little hamster.
"Evan! Let go of me!" she squealed like a chipmunk.
"Listen here little hamster, I am willing to forget what you told me yesterday and we can start over. I am going to pretend that you suffered from temporary insanity when you said you won't listen to me anymore," I said.
"You are crazy! I wasn't lying yesterday. I won't be pushed around anymore!" her voice trembled a little but she spoke firmly.
I yanked the glasses off of her face. I knew she couldn't see too well without those. Her hazel eyes were actually her best feature. Too bad she had to hide them under these dorky glasses.
"Wha...what are you doing? Give those back!" she exclaimed.
"Not till you apologize and say you'll keep doing as I say," I said.
"I won't!" she squealed again.
"Fine, I hope you can get through the day without these. Good luck, hamster," I said and dropped the glasses on the floor and stepped on them. She gasped as she heard the sickening crunch beneath my feet.
"Noooo! What have you done! I can barely see without those," she looked like she was about to cry.
"Awe boohoo should've thought about it before going against me," I mocked her then let go. She picked up the broken glasses and tried to see through them but they were completely broken.
"I hate you! You are a horrible person," she sobbed.
"Yeah, tell me something I don't know. Now get the fuck out of here," I snarled.
I saw her struggling to walk through the crowd. She was stumbling, almost tripping over nothing. That girl is blind as a bat, I laughed at the thought. Hopefully, she will come to her senses soon and do as I say.
I didn't see her for the rest of the day. I wondered if she just went home somehow since she was useless without her glasses. I am gonna have to admit, I was slightly worried about her. I didn't want to get hurt.
But...It doesn't matter because I also happened to live in the house right across from hers. She can't escape me no matter how hard she tries.
I started to drive back home after classes were over. As I waited on the red light to turn green I saw Annie walking on the sidewalk with this kid named Brent Adams. Since when did they become friends? I pulled up next to them and honked.
"Hey! Annie! Can't see without those glasses huh? Too fucking bad!" I yelled after rolling down my window.
Annie flinched and looked at me as she recognized my voice.
"Hey man, just leave her alone. She has suffered enough," Brent said.
"I didn't ask you Mr. do-gooder. I'll decide when its enough for her. Now get in the car, both of you!" I said and unlocked the door.
"Huh? What you mean?" Annie asked nervously.
"Are you deaf now too? Get. in . the. fucking . car before I lose my shit," I said firmly and glared at Brent.
Annie's P.O.V.Ever since I was a little girl, I had been bullied because of my glasses. Kids made fun of me all throughout elementary and middle school. Called me names like a nerd, four-eye, dork, and many more. I mean...hello! It's not like I choose to wear glasses this thick! I admit I don't exactly look attractive with these covering half of my face but without them, I can't see a thing. My whole world is blurry. Stupid rare eye conditio
Annie's P.O.V.I didn't understand Evan at all. First, he destroys my glasses then he buys me a new pair? Is he bipolar? I just don't get it.Maybe he felt sorry for me. Yep, that's it. He thinks I'm his pet.
Evan's P. O. VAfter school, I went home and waited in my room patiently. The doorbell rang all of a sudden so I jumped up. It must be her."You are late," I said irritably.
Annie's P.O.V.I left his house feeling confused. Why does Evan care what I do with Brent on our date? Does he want to control my life that bad?Brent and I texted each other all day. I felt giddy every time he texted me. Maybe my life will finally get better now.
Evan's P.O.V.Saturday night came and I felt anxious. Wasn't Annie supposed to go on a date with Brent? Why was I nervous? Why do I care in the first place? These questions kept circulating in my brain but I didn't feel like thinking too hard about it.I looked out the window and waited for her to come out. How late was this movie? A couple more hours went by but still no Annie. I should just go do my own thing. Why was I worried about her date? But I couldn't take it anymore. I had to know what she was up to. I was just so used yo having her my side all the time it was hard for me to leave her alone.I got my binocular out and pointed at her window. Yeah, I know what you are thinking. Creepy stalker much? Well, I've done worse things. And it's not like I am going to sit here and watch her undress. I don't get off watching naked chicks from the distance. Besides, she has no boobs anyway. She was laying on her bed with her face down on the pillow. Her body was shaking a little. Is she c
Evan's P.O.V.I drove her back to our neighborhood and parked the car. She wasn't crying anymore but she had a grim expression on her face."You didn't have to scare him like that," she said quietly."What, you are still worried about that
Evan's P.O.V.I had a suspicion Annie's mother had been abusing her for years but I wasn't sure. Her mother looked like an ordinary woman who was all smiles when she was in front of strangers. Even me. But every time I saw new bruises on Annie's face, I knew immediately that her bitch mother had something to do with it. And the other day, Annie slipped and told me about her mother hitting her for breaking the old pair of glasses. Even though I was the one responsible, she got punished for it.
Annie's P.O.V.How long have I been asleep? I had no idea. I remembered my eyelids feeling heavy as soon as I put my head on Evan's pillow. I should probably go home.I didn't want to open my eyes. I felt so warm and comfortable."Are you p
