Annie's P.O.V.
Ever since I was a little girl, I had been bullied because of my glasses. Kids made fun of me all throughout elementary and middle school. Called me names like a nerd, four-eye, dork, and many more. I mean...hello! It's not like I choose to wear glasses this thick! I admit I don't exactly look attractive with these covering half of my face but without them, I can't see a thing. My whole world is blurry. Stupid rare eye condition. Why couldn't I be born normal like everyone else?
Even with all the teasing and bullying, I was surviving just fine. Until I met Evan...
At first, he didn't pay attention to me just like everybody else. But then one day he called me over to him as I was on my way to lunch.
"Hey, you! With the glasses!" he said.
"Huh? Me?" I was confused. Why was Evan Williams talking to me?
It was the first month of my freshman year. I noticed him right away as he was really good looking with his bright blue eyes and the boyish lopsided grin. Way out of my league. Not that it mattered. No boy ever liked me anyways.
"What the fuck are you staring at, freak?" he barked when he saw me looking at him. And that was the only thing he said to me that month.
So don't blame me for being surprised when he suddenly talked to me!
"Yes, I am talking to you. Do you see anyone else with glasses?" he said and narrowed his eyes at me.
"N...no..." I stammered. I felt really nervous. I was not good at dealing with boys.
"Well don't just stand there like a dumb lamp post. Come over here," he ordered.
I didn't argue. He was kind of scary with his tall and muscular physic. He practically towered over me.
"I've been watching you for a while now," he said.
I blushed. He noticed me? That's surprising.
"So, I've decided you are gonna be my errand girl now," he declared.
Wait...what?
"Wha...what do you mean?" I asked hesitantly.
"I mean, you gonna do everything I ask you. Starting from now. Go buy me some snacks from the vending machine," he ordered.
"I don't understand," I said.
He leaned down and grabbed my shoulders. His blue eyes bored into mine. "Let me spell this out for you little freshman since you are new. I rule this goddamn school. You are in my territory now. That means you don't want to make me angry."
Of course...I should've expected this. I was going to be bullied once again.
"What if I said no?" I asked meekly.
"Then I will get real angry. And when I am angry, bad things will happen to you. Things you can't even imagine." he snarled.
Ugh! Why me!
"I...I'll go get your snacks," I said.
"Good girl," he said and patted me on the head.
I ran off feeling scared and humiliated. This was a disaster. I had no idea he was such a bully. I came back with snacks and handed them to him.
"Here are your snacks, can I go now?" I said hurriedly.
"Okay. For now, since you did such a good job," he said and shoved some money in my hands.
"Wha...what's it for?" I looked at him quizzically.
"For the damn snacks, what else? I said you are my errand girl, not my sugar mama. Now get out of here," he barked.
I didn't hesitate for another minute and ran far away from him.
Back to the present...
Evan's P.O.V.
Brent started to lead Annie inside the back seat.
"Hell no. Annie is sitting up front, next to me," I ordered. He didn't argue with me and led Annie to the front.
"Good boy," I said and started to drive again.
"W...where are you taking us?" Brent asked nervously.
"I am gonna drop your ass home first, then taking Annie with me," I said.
"Wait...don't hurt her! She didn't do anything wrong," Brent said desperately.
"Why the fuck do you think I'll hurt her? It's not like I am kidnapping her. We are neighbors, dumb ass," I snarled.
"Oh," Brent didn't say anything else. Annie stayed quiet the whole time.
"So..what's up with you and the squirrel face?" I asked Annie after dropping off Brent.
"Huh?" Annie squinted at me with confusion.
"Brent. What's up with you and Brent?" I asked again.
"N..nothing..we are friends," she said nervously.
"Friends huh? I thought you didn't have any friends," I said gruffly.
"He talked to me in class so we started to talk more. I like him he is nice to me," Annie rambled on.
I see what's going on here. Little hamster found herself a squirrel so how she is trying to run away from the wolf. Not happening!
I stopped the car on the curb in front of her house.
"You gonna be able to walk to your front door or do I need to carry your ass there?" I asked.
"No no! Don't. I can manage," she said hurriedly.
"Cool. Then get the fuck out of my car," I barked and watched her skittered away. She raised her arms in front of her like she was walking in the dark. What a dork. I should've just carried her there.
I went back home and took a shower then ate the food my mom left in the fridge. She was working late as always which means, I get to have the whole house to myself.
Later that day, I decided to take a walk to the park that was right outside our neighborhood. I was surprised to see Annie sitting on the swing with her head down.
"Oh look whose here," I called out in a mocking tone.
She didn't lift her head and trembled a little like she was crying.
What the hell? I thought I was the only one who made her cry.
"What the fuck is the matter with you?" I demanded to know.
She finally looked up. Her cheeks were wet with tears. Her left cheek looked red and raw like someone slapped her.
"Ma...my glasses..." she started to speak but couldn't finish the sentence.
"Yes, glasses. I broke them. Big fucking deal. Is that really something to cry about?" I said irritably.
"My mom said she won't let me into the house if I don't get a new pair. But I have no money," she sniffled.
What the fuck...what kinda mother is that?
I walked over to her and touched the red spot on her cheek. "Did she hit you too?" I asked as she flinched.
She didn't say and looked down again but she didn't have to.
"Fuck...alright. Let's go," I sighed.
"Where?" she asked.
"To buy you a new pair of glasses," I said.
"Wha...what? N...no you don't have to!" she protested.
"Just shut up and come with me before I get angry," I took her hand and started to walk toward my car.
I took her to the store so she could pick out a new pair. It was almost $200, no wonder her mother got so mad!
Annie's P.O.V.I didn't understand Evan at all. First, he destroys my glasses then he buys me a new pair? Is he bipolar? I just don't get it.Maybe he felt sorry for me. Yep, that's it. He thinks I'm his pet.
Evan's P. O. VAfter school, I went home and waited in my room patiently. The doorbell rang all of a sudden so I jumped up. It must be her."You are late," I said irritably.
Annie's P.O.V.I left his house feeling confused. Why does Evan care what I do with Brent on our date? Does he want to control my life that bad?Brent and I texted each other all day. I felt giddy every time he texted me. Maybe my life will finally get better now.
Evan's P.O.V.Saturday night came and I felt anxious. Wasn't Annie supposed to go on a date with Brent? Why was I nervous? Why do I care in the first place? These questions kept circulating in my brain but I didn't feel like thinking too hard about it.I looked out the window and waited for her to come out. How late was this movie? A couple more hours went by but still no Annie. I should just go do my own thing. Why was I worried about her date? But I couldn't take it anymore. I had to know what she was up to. I was just so used yo having her my side all the time it was hard for me to leave her alone.I got my binocular out and pointed at her window. Yeah, I know what you are thinking. Creepy stalker much? Well, I've done worse things. And it's not like I am going to sit here and watch her undress. I don't get off watching naked chicks from the distance. Besides, she has no boobs anyway. She was laying on her bed with her face down on the pillow. Her body was shaking a little. Is she c
Evan's P.O.V.I drove her back to our neighborhood and parked the car. She wasn't crying anymore but she had a grim expression on her face."You didn't have to scare him like that," she said quietly."What, you are still worried about that
Evan's P.O.V.I had a suspicion Annie's mother had been abusing her for years but I wasn't sure. Her mother looked like an ordinary woman who was all smiles when she was in front of strangers. Even me. But every time I saw new bruises on Annie's face, I knew immediately that her bitch mother had something to do with it. And the other day, Annie slipped and told me about her mother hitting her for breaking the old pair of glasses. Even though I was the one responsible, she got punished for it.
Annie's P.O.V.How long have I been asleep? I had no idea. I remembered my eyelids feeling heavy as soon as I put my head on Evan's pillow. I should probably go home.I didn't want to open my eyes. I felt so warm and comfortable."Are you p
Evan's P. O. V."What's her problem?" Lily said."Huh? What are you talking about?" I raised my eyebrows."The girl who is always following you around? Don't you get annoyed?" she asked.
Evan's P.O.V.I grinned as I saw Annie giving me the evil eyes from across the room. All because I talked to Melanie at the party. Oh, my sweet little jealous hamster. Doesn't she know it was impossible for me to think about another girl? After being hesitant, we ended up at the party. But here I was being burned by her jealous eyes whenever I talked to Melanie. Sure, I could just avoid Melanie, but it was too much fun seeing A
Annie's P.O.V.Relief washed over me as I saw them take my mother and her boyfriend away. She was a sick woman. Maybe she will have some time to reflect on her actions in jail. As far as our relationship goes, it was over. She never looked at me as her daughter so from now on I won't be calling her my mother.Nothing went wrong for the next couple of months. I enrolled myself at a university and got a part time job. It was just
Annie's P. O. V."You've got to be kidding me! You can't just show up and ask me for money!" I cried."And why can't I," she looked at me with distaste."You abused me for years and then left me when I turned blind. Why would I possibly giv
Evan's P.O.V.Annie wouldn't look me in the eyes ever since we slept together. It was as if she became even shyer. It has been a week since she moved into my place but she still turned red every time I touched her and asked to make love to her.I smirked as she kept stealing glances at me during breakfast. My cute little hamster.
Evan's P. O. V.I gently placed her on the bed and smirked. Her face was beet red as she was blushing immensely. Why is she still so shy around me?I pulled off my T-shirt over my head and tossed it to the side. Her eyes turned wide with sh
Evan's P. O. V."Are you sure this is a good idea?" Annie frowned and looked at me then at the bed. Her hazel eyes were wide.I smirked. We are at my new apartment which only had one bed. That means little hamster gets to sleep with lil ole me.
Evan's P. O. V.I prepared to pick up Annie along with Mike and Lily. My heart felt heavy but this time it was because I was so happy I could explode."Stop smiling like that, it's creeping me out," Mike said."Yeah, me too," Lily agreed.
Evan's P. O. VI went to see her grandma that day. I didn't have much time. She opened the door and stared at me intently. "Ah, you are Stacy Green's boy. What are you doing here?""I didn't think you'd remember me," I let out a nervous chu
Evan's P. O. V.I came to see her for one reason only. To know how she felt about me and end this chase once and for all. When I kissed her and touched her I got all the answers I needed. The way she reacted told me I wasn't lying to myself when I thought she still loved me. She was still mine and I am not leaving without her this time.
