“Eh, Laura isn’t here,” Marcus said softly.

Marcus averted his eyes from Edwin’s piercing gaze. He felt completely sick to his stomach, and for the first time in a long while, he wanted to run away from here, and never come back.

“What do you mean she isn’t here? Where is my daughter, Marcus?” The older man snapped angrily.
