Laura slowly opened her eyes to the dark room. It was pitch black. She couldn’t see where the windows were. On impulse, her hands shot to her head, and she massaged the cranks she felt.

The door slowly opened, and Lin stepped in, holding a lamp in his hands. He held it away from him like he couldn’t stand the heat it brought. Laura swallowed hard as she looked at him.

She could remember that he fed her with wine, but anything beyond that was completely lost on her. She just couldn’t remember at all, and that really stressed her.
