Marcus stared at the full moon through the safety of his bedroom. He hated the fact that he had been forced to sit put in such a situation. There had not been any positive creative idea that would make all these easier to handle. Instead all he got were scraps. There was no way he would be able to get Laura out of Lin’s lair this way.

His fingers combed through his hair. The moon goddess must have given him Laura as his mate, so he would be able to protect her from the dangers that about, but he had failed to do even that part. He felt like a failure through and through.

“I don’t know where to look for her. What do I do, moon goddess. Let me in on the answer to all these issues.” He whispered to the moon.

There was no response.

He turned away from the window, and walked over to the mini bar in his room. He needed a drink. Maybe, it would clear his head if he took a shot. He wasn’t so sure, but there was definitely no harm in trying.
