CH. 74

They were keeping Charles' father and my dad in a secluded area of the building for everyone's safety. We were allowed to see them, but they couldn't leave their room. I didn't like that very much, but I didn't have a leg to stand on right now. I was in a lot of trouble for disobeying a direct order from Stoic. I don't regret it though. No way was I going to stay in the building and not go help Charles.

He said he was contemplating my punishment still. Nate defended me though and told his father he has no just cause to punish me. That staying in the council wasn't part of my sentencing. He said they were unjustly holding me here. It only seemed to flame the fire of Stoic's fury.

I was currently sitting across from him in his study. His face was serious, but his eyes held all the anger he was holding back.  His hands were clasped in front of him over his mouth and he kept his gaze fixed on me. He was contemplating, thinking of what to do with me. Eventual
