My father's shoulders slouched his eyes misting over. I've never seen him look so fragile, except for when I found him in the darkness.
"Lucy.." He whispered, so much love poured into her name from his lips. "Is that okay? I don't want to ruin her new life." He shyed away."Dad," I paused grabbing his hand with both of mine. Dad cried for a while over James. He cried over the time he missed with us. He threw things as his sadness turned to anger. Anger over how he was a prisoner in his own body and mind. Anger over how weak he felt, never being able to beat the demon on his own. Anger at all the things he missed out on while I grew up. I sent those healing waves towards him, once he slumped down on the floor, once he threw his last item. "Thanks gumdrop. You've grown up to be such a wonderful woman." Dad pet my head, causing me to feel like a small child again. I groaned, but smiled up at him. "It had a lot to do with your death. I had to grow up a lot when you died. It definitely matured me faster." I thought back to middle school and how trivial everyone's drama seemed to me. I didn't care about Becky cheating on John with Noah. I didn't care that the boy my best friend had a crush on liked me instead. Everything just seemed meaningless at that time.

After a long day, I was glad to find Eryn and Charles in the dining hall together. They were arguing again, but I was beginning to find it kind of endearing. I wanted to chase after Eryn right away, but Charles was still inside me. We had just had this tender moment and I don't regret it, but I should have thought of Eryn. My mother's questions never relented. She asked Eryn about his childhood, which parent he was closest to and why. How he felt about being mated to a werewolf and more. I am starting to hate Clarice. Her instructions are cryptic and not very forthcoming. She tells me to do something, but she doesn't tell me how to do it. I think it's because she doesn't really know, and I can't really hold it against her. She isn't a chosen one, her mother was, so there is only so much she can know. Still though it's really annoying and I am getting tired of it. I just want to figure this out and get to the bottom of this. I was able to project for a full 30 seconds this time though. I focused on the last person I projected to, the one chained to the wall, she's still alive it seems. I saw her still in the dark cave, my stomach hurt from the hunger she was feeling. I walked behind Jeremy's dad, following him closely. We were hiking up a trail. Nothing but the sounds of birds singing and leaves crunching beneath my boots surrounded us. It was very tranquil and really quite beautiful. I got the sense that Jeremy and his dad were human. Sounds didn't sound as clear through his ears and the colors weren't as vibrant as usual. My vision was limited, unable to see too far. He seemed fit for a human though. His legs didn't get like lead, and he seemed to have good stamina. I added a little more yellow to the red, unhappy with the orange color I had a moment ago. Trying to get the color right in these trees was driving me insane. I know that it doesn't have to be exact, but the perfectionist in me is telling me otherwise. I painted most everything else already just needed those speaks of orange leaves.
