EVE'S POV

When I woke up the next morning, the sun was shining brightly through the curtains. I moaned and turned away from the light, hiding my face in the pillow.

My next breath, flooding my senses with Morgan's scent, confirmed that I indeed wasn't in my own room.

My eyes fluttered open again. Slowly, I scanned the area next to me. It was empty. I turned my head just as slowly to the other side. Empty. Relief swept through me. He was gone. That meant I could slip away.

The relief waned as soon as I took note of the sunlight filtering through the curtains again. My stomach sank. Oh no! Had I overslept?
