Seventy five

EVE'S POV

After taking a bath and brushing my teeth, I went back to my room to get dressed. A look at my phone revealed that it was already nine o'clock.

I wondered whether it would be too imprudent of me to take a day off right after Sylvester had offered me a raise. But I couldn't deny that Morgan had me sold on the idea of taking the day off.

Carefully, I crafted a text to Juliet, letting her know that I wouldn't make it to work because I was feeling unwell. I also promised to make up for it. I sighed in relief when Juliet replied soon after, letting me know it was fine and wishing me a quick recovery.

After getting dressed in a pair of comfy pants and a sweater, I took in my appearance in the mirror. There was a smattering of hickeys along my neck column, continuing on to the skin hidden below my sweater's neckline. I didn't mind.
