Seventy eight

**EVE'S POV**

When I got to work later, I sat down at my desk and sent a short straightforward message to my father. I wasn't asking him for permission or his opinion. I simply wanted to give him a heads up that soon, Morgan would be aware of our scheme. A part of me felt like I was being unfilial, especially because Jeffery and Morgana had adopted me from the orphanage and raised me in their own home.

Morgana and Cindy might not treat me like family, but at least Jeffery did his best. It was for his sake that a part of me felt awful about revealing their secret. But I couldn't keep allowing them to use me for their benefit while deceiving another innocent person in the process. I felt that even if they had kept their promise, I wouldn't have been able to keep deceiving Morgan any longer. Not with the way things had turned out to be.

After sending the message, I put my phone aside and turned on my computer. Alice appeared at my desk then.
