Akira’s P.O.V

“How are you  feeling?” I ask the guy in front of me who just woke up a while ago.

“Who are you and where am I?” He also asks looking at us not minding my question.

“You are here in the West section Moon Night pack, I am Scar Yaji, and she is Akira Walter owner of this house while this guy here is Ralf Miles next alpha of this pack” Scar replied to his question.

“I am Idris Voss from South East section Evergreen pack” he also introduced himself.

“It is nice to meet you and we are glad that you woke up,” I said.

“What happened and I ended up here?” He inquires as he pulls himself to get up.

“We went to your pack when we received the message that rogues attacked and you are the only one we were able to save. The others were already dead when we arrived and some homes were destroyed and burned to ashes” Ralf explained as he was the one to lead the rescue.

“That can not be I have to go back there” before he could stand on his feet his eyes darted to Sachiko’s statuette since we are here in her room, it is the only empty that he can rest.

“S-sachiko” we all looked into each other as he spoke of the name. 

“You know her?” Ralf ask.

“I need to go back there, I have to save her” he struggles as he pushes himself to stand but ended up going back to the bed.

“Do not push yourself, you are still unstable you can not last for an hour in that condition of yours” I scolded.

“But she needs me” he pleaded.

“She? Who?” He pointed to Sachiko’s statuette.

“Boy, you must have gone mistaken, that is my sister who died four months ago”, I said yet he shook his head.

“Sachiko is not dead, we have been living with her for almost two months how can she be dead?” He defended.

“Maybe you are talking to someone else there with the same name” Scar glanced at me as I say those words.

“Sachiko Walter is the one I am implying to she passed over to our pack while she is wondering so we offered her to live with us thankfully she agreed since we can not afford to see her sovereignty wondering” he clarified.

“Sachiko is one of the best girls out there, she may be clumsy sometimes but she is incredible. She makes things easy even though it is really hard. She is with me that night even though she is a human she survives just that I lost consciousness” my heart has pain as I imagine his story. Sachiko is alive, but how?

“We scanned every body there and found no trace of Sachiko and you are the only alive we found there” Ralf explained.

I was about to say something when Keren and Jen entered the room. Jen froze to where she is standing as her eye darted to Idris and Idris shortly lift his head to peek at Jen. Their eye contact meant something, even though they did not say a word I can deduce and feel it since I know that kind of atmosphere. My eye went to Scar who is looking at me too and he smiled, which means I was not the only one who understood what is going on here.

“Looks like a friend here found a mate” Scar giggled. Ralf and Keren had their mouth parted and eyes widened changing glances to Jen and Idris.

“H-hi” Jen greeted nervously.

“Idris Voss is the name” Idris introduced himself in a clear emotionless voice that made me and Scar look into each other.

“My name is Jen Excell” I can sense the heartbreaking emotion in Jen’s voice.

“I am happy to meet you and know that you are mate but I am sorry that it happens in a bumpy crisis," Idris said. Jen’s expression went empty but her eyes is says she is broken.

“What I meant is um how to say this? You, I am not trying to make you upset here”

“But you did” Jen cut him off.

“And you do not understand me here, what I am saying is I am happy to meet you but at the same time I am brought down to earth. Of all time that the goddess of the moon leads us to each other is not right, I am not rejecting you but I can not accept you at this moment” not rejecting but can not accept?

“What do you mean at this moment? Why would you not accept her?” Keren ask.

“Sachiko and I made a pledge to each other and I do not want to see her so down and broken again. Even though she can not remember her past we know that she already meet her mate and got rejected since she suffered from the pressure of breaking that sacred bond. She almost died because of that bond breaking, that mate of hers marks another girl as his mate so this pressure causes her so much pain to death luckily she survived” I almost see myself falling on the floor thankfully I was able to hold the small cabinet place on the bedside.

“I am sorry if I can not accept you now, I just want to make everything good without grudge and pain. I do love Sachiko but I want to clear everything with her, I know and understand the rule of this sacred bond but I am afraid of sending the other in pain. I hope you do understand my reason and I will not blame you if you can not” Jen just flung herself to Idris and hugged him.

“Sachiko is a friend of mine and I do understand you, thank you for caring about her” with that she cried as her mate pat her back comforting her.

“I am sorry that we have to end like this and thank you for understanding” the look in his eyes meant a puzzle. Idris is puzzled and this is his only way of solving the matter.

“Are you saying that our friend is alive?” Kit suddenly came into the room. Jen split up with Idris who is just sitting in the bed.

“Of course, I am unless there is another human in this pack with the same name as Sachiko Walter, besides we have two rogues in prison and they seem to know her and what happens to her. They are expecting her to be dead but she is not” so it is true that she is alive.

“Then she may be in the other pack if she survived, in this kind of situation all packs receive the message so this means another pack might have saved her and the others from your pack” Kit got a point.

Now that Sachiko is alive I do not know how to confront her, or how to react especially since she does not remember everything. What is with the mourning birds that day we lost Sachiko? Could it be that they have mistaken the blood?

“Deep thoughts, what is up?” I was interrupted when Scar pat my head.

“Nothing, anyway Jen you take good care of him. Anything you want to eat?” I instructed Jen and asked Idris.

“No I am good I can take care of myself do not bother, I will just take a rest I am still drowsy” Idris refused.

“If that is what you want then we will be heading out have a good rest” I motioned them to follow as I head to the door.

“What were you thinking a while ago?” Scar asked after we reach the living room.

“Thinking the day we lost Sachiko, if she is alive just like what Idris said then were the mourning birds mistaken Sachiko’s blood that day or we were the ones who made mistake? As you said you can identify Sachiko’s blood but that flood of blood was mixed, Sachiko’s blood and someone else. You said it yourself that there is a weird smell of another blood, could it be that the owner of that blood was those birds were mourning for and not Sachiko?”

“You hit the point there, the answer is, it was us who made a mistake. We were so caught up with the fact that Sachiko is gone that made us close-minded that time speculating all the probabilities in front of us” Kit agreed.

“I heard about the mourning birds but never seen how they look I think we should go and talk to sir Halifas” Ralf suggested.

“Then should we leave him?” Keren pointed to Sachiko’s room.

“It is the good thing to do since he does not want to be disturbed and he is still uncomfortable finding out Jen is his mate” I explained.

“I know, he only said those words to comfort me. He is still hooked with Sachiko, even so, I still do feel relieved hearing him say he does not want to give her the pain she underwent before. Knowing the story he had been through I guess this is the best thing to do” Jen voiced out.

In this situation we can not side to what is wrong or right, saying the other is wrong but in reverse, it is right for the other side. It is right for the other but wrong for the other, neither of the two can specify which one should we choose.

“Do not be upset” Scar comforted her.

“I am not upset, just that it makes me scared. Let us just let this side we still need to talk with sir Halifas let us go” she head to the door first without looking at us I say she is really upset.

We barged into the room without any authorization after we got here in the main pack house. My parents were inside including Scar’s parents, what are they doing here?

“You youngsters do not know how to use manners” Mr. Clayton scolded us.

“Why are you here?” Dad asked.

“We are here to refine things with sir Halifas” Scar responded.

“You can talk with him after this meeting,” alpha said.

“Mr. Voss is awake,” Ralf said.

“Who is that?” Mom interrogate.

“The guy from South East section Evergreen pack, he is insisting on going back there” I explained as I take a sit not planning to leave.

“And you let him go that is why you are here?” mom’s voice toned up.

“He is resting after some comfort we gave him, he said he wants to go save someone there” I eyed mom.

“Particularly who? No one is alive except him” alpha asked with interest.

“Sachiko,” we all said in chorus while my eyes were fixed on my mom and her forehead crumpled.

“Repeat” she demanded.

“We said it is Sachiko, the human girl we lost months ago” Ralf repeated.

“How can you be so sure of that? This is a big world, names can be determined easily but not the same being” sir Halifas said in distress.

“Then who is the Sachiko Walter that man said? A human girl that lost her memory and happened to pass over their territory and was identified by two rogue prisoners as a dead one?” I argued.

“That human sister of yours is dead and the girl Mr. Voss said is not your sister”

“He said it himself he identified her with Sachiko’s statuette inside her room” 

“Akira stop, I guess we wrongly came here in the first place, someone here should not be trusted” Kit cut me off as he look at the man I am arguing with.

“Better to leave here, sorry for interrupting and we are sorry Mr. Halifas” he continued which made us gasp. Did he just say Mr?

“Calling you sir does not suit you or even Mr. maybe calling you with just your name is the best,” he said as all eyes are on him.

“Satisfying” Keren giggled in silence.
