Lysa is expelled from her pack and the wolf world for being a weak and sickly omega. Her memory is erased so she can't return and she is thrown into the streets of the human world to die... But an attractive and strange man finds her, a wolf hunter who has loved her forever.
Lihat lebih banyakI thought it would be easy to stay in my pack, after all, they were my own family. The normal life we led was by far the most dreamed of. Imported luxury cars, first class meals, and of course a huge house with a room for each of the siblings. My mother and father had seven children, I was the middle child, almost insignificant and also without any talent.
Before the ball, where it was to be announced whether I was allowed to stay in the fold, I put on makeup. The red lipstick contrasted with my dark complexion and I combed my brown hair until it was straight and shone like silk.
“You are not ready yet.” my sister Rosset said, looking gorgeous. “Holy cow, how long will it take you to change?”
It was not easy for me to find a suitable outfit for the most important day in my life. I chose a tight-fitting blue blouse with a long, elegant skirt. I wanted to look as serious as possible.
“You look beautiful, Lysa.” She smiled as she hugged me.
“Do not flatter me, sister, you know what will happen today. The flock meeting is nothing but my death sentence.” I howled and tried to suppress the tears that escaped me.
“It's not true. You will not die if they decide you can not stay, and it's not final either.” Rosset grimaced hopefully.
“But of course it is.” I stared at her, she would not dare lie to me if she looked me in the eye. “I do not need to remind you what's going to happen, you are a good student. The wolves will say I am the weakest omega in the pack, and that will mean my expulsion. Because that's what I am, the weakest.”
“Oh, Lysa, I am so sorry.” Rosset burst into tears as she realized she could no longer lie to me. “I love you so much, sister.”
“Do not worry about it, do not tie yourself to me, you know what will happen.” I closed my eyes and imagined the scenario.
Since time immemorial, the wolves of the pack have chosen different ranks to measure each other's skills. The alpha animal was always the strongest and the beta animal the second strongest.
The Omegas were also part of the pack, because they fought as a team. However, the weakest of the whole pack was always chosen to be expelled to the human world so that the family wouldn't have to have this weakness.
I knew it, our history says so. I trained for so long without accomplishing anything to become stronger. I lifted weights, ran for miles, but my wolf form was always so thin, in the bones, small and with such fragile fangs. I was useless to defend anything, at the first sign of a fight I'd die.
Rosset accompanied me to the ballroom and we walked in together, arm in arm. She was always my favorite sister. The others were there too, my whole family, my six siblings, the almost ten uncles and aunts and the other relatives.
They were in their wolf forms, so big, imposing and scary. I felt fear shake me from head to toe. I was in my human form and my eyes were full of tears.
The one who came forward was my father, transformed into the giant red wolf that he was. He growled in front of everyone to show his strength. It had been a long time since he was the Alpha, for my brother had dethroned him when he came of age.
“Lysa, daughter number five.” my father said in a solemn voice. “We must see your transformation to decide your fate.”
The moment I dreaded the most, but there was no point in delaying it any longer. I turned into the silver-white she-wolf, so skeletal that it was painful to look at me, and my fur was so dry and dull that it threatened to fall out altogether.
I noticed the pitying looks of those present, I even heard the comments about my condition. I was a failed wolf, a mistake of nature, the ugliest omega there is. No strong wolf would choose me as a mate.
“Take your human form again, daughter.” were the words of my father.
From a red casket set with black stones he took out a coin with a string, an ancient necklace. He put it around my neck.
“The symbol of the little one, the minor.” he murmured. “The one that belongs to you, Lysa, you're the omega that has failed.”
Her voice echoed in the room and my mother burst into tears. Of course it was to be expected, that coin brought bad luck and everyone there knew it. My stomach began to ache terribly from nervousness.
When the coin touched my skin, I felt more and more dizzy, I got goosebumps and my head was so heavy. I began to forget. I had heard it many times before, the story of the wolves. When an Omega was thrown into the human world, she was forced to leave her memories far behind. The secret of the wolves was to remain intact.
My mother came up to me to hug me. These were the last minutes I'd remember her before she disappeared forever.
I could hear my sister Rosset moaning and crying, I'd miss her so much too.
“I love you and will always love you, my dear daughter.” my mother said and kissed me on the forehead. “May your life continue to be happy, now you're free from what was once your prison. No more herds, no more ranks, no more alphas or omegas.”
I hugged her with what little strength I had left, for she'd soon be unconscious. My mind shut down and my vision slowly blurred.
“Lysa Reccuse dropped out of the pack of Goth Alphas.” That was the voice of another I was slowly forgetting. “She's banished to the land of men, where she'll live without wolf memories, without the ability to transform, without her family's wealth and material possessions, and without her family name. She's strictly forbidden to return, and if she does try, death will be her doom. No one will ever be able to see her again, not even once, unless they want to be accused of treason.”
I wept in my mother's arms because I would never see her again. My family would no longer exist for me, nor would the wealth, the luxury and my big room in the house. I had no idea where I would end up, my wolf district was all I knew as home.
I looked at everyone one last time before falling asleep on the floor as the medal burned me near my neck and took full effect. The pain shot through me to my feet and knocked me unconscious.
The last thing my eyes saw was the sad image of my mother and Rosset clinging to me, struggling not to be taken. The other wolves were attacking them and there was nothing I could do to change my situation.
GothAt last I had everything I wanted. I uncorked a new champagne for the occasion, toasting only to my triumph. Because it was so satisfying to have things go my way. It was spectacular.-Won't he be suspicious? -my brother asked.-Who? -I asked, annoyed that he would walk in on this moment of celebration.I was so happy that I wouldn't let anyone or anything ruin this moment. I drank from my glass.-The boy.-Luvioc already felt what it's like to kill the first person. Right?-Yes, but...-Do you remember that feeling? As a wolf, the most exciting feeling is hunting prey. All your siblings will be like that, I'm sure. Because I'll take care of raising them to be real wolves.-And haven't you thought about it, if any of them won't miss their mother?-They won't. Because she's crazy, always has been.-Why do you say that?-People believe what you tell them, what I say. But they will believe what Luvioc tells them. His brothers will know that Luvioc had to kill that hunter to protect
SethWalking away from that forest was like taking a part of my body, as if a part of my heart had been removed. Every time I looked at some of my hunting gear, I remembered Billy. I had decided to leave even though everyone wanted to stop me, even though I knew that if I left, everyone would leave.Because I didn't care anymore, I was totally hopeless in the war. My heart felt frozen, broken. Lysa, my memories were becoming a blur.I was becoming a shadow belonging to the forest. I just wanted to get away. But the damned witch was following in my footsteps and I knew it well. She was obsessed with me.-Don't you have anything better to do? -I asked, with growing annoyance. At least the anger covered a little of the deep depression.-I didn't imagine you were such a crybaby. -She said, in her sinister, dismissive tone of voice. She appeared before me, still as a hooded figure. She was cadaverous, the moonlight making her look even thinner, paler. Her robe was black and purple, somewha
LysaI was drowsy, but that didn't stop me from starting to crawl on the floor looking for a way to get out of that damn room. The walls began to change color as my eyes grew tired. They went from intense greens to dull light blue. Then, orange took over, to red and then, to an immaculate white.I felt my heart beating. It was a sound that was accelerating as I regained consciousness.I snapped my eyes open after closing them and my head hit the floor. It was a thundering sound that jolted me awake.-I wondered when the sleeping pill would wear off. Looks like you haven't slept well in a long time.I tried to get up to run away. I fell to the ground, I had the shackles around my feet. They prevented me from going very far. Meters before the door I was already on my knees on the ground.Goth was watching me stealthily, a smug smile on his face. He was enjoying every minute he had me locked up here.-Revenge is the most delicious dish of all. -He smiled, humming a song, having fun.He l
NarratorThe young wolf was inexperienced, when he was wounded for the first time, his most spontaneous reaction was to run away to return to his pack immediately. Luvioc was soaked by the falling water, the rain was torrential. However, he was euphoric, he felt the applause surrounding him for his victory. Even though almost no one had seen him win, he knew that his triumph had been epic.He was proud of himself, that could be a feeling that crushed the fear of being hurt. Still, he wanted to go back. Blood stained his fur slightly, it had been a shallow wound. A scratch for an adult wolf, something unimportant. He spotted a presence and smelled Goth's scent up ahead. She was waiting for him before the building in which they lived. The first thing Luvioc wanted to do was to tell his brothers everything that had happened, in detail. That would impress them, leave them speechless.-She's upset. -Goth said, looking at him sternly. -I'm very sorry.Luvioc did not understand what was happ
Seth-I will allow you to speak even at this moment, even when I know perfectly well that you escaped. -I said, looking at her suspiciously.I could not trust her. The witch looked particularly bad, with dark circles under her eyes, and a hundred percent haggard.-Darling. I told you this would happen. Oh, you look more handsome when you're so distraught.-Shut up! -I knocked on the wood of one of the trees.Fuck, my best friend was dead. I felt a tear run down my cheek. Karly was badly wounded, she had only just regained a little more strength.-We have to make them pay. We will do anything. -She said to the witch.I was speechless at what she was asking. Because that request was drastic and the enemies... were my family. I swallowed, nervous. The mixture of anguish, anger and impotence left me speechless, naked in the face of uncertainty.-There are ways to even the playing field. I have a little spell. You know my dear, I have not been asked for things in a good way. -she winked.T
LysaI had been trying to get the image of that man out of my head, that mysterious hunter reigning in my thoughts. It was as if I could see him.Suddenly, I let go of the cup in my hands, which crashed into a thousand pieces. The glass shattered and the sound made my skin crawl. I had had a feeling, an intuition. I couldn't even look out the window, I had a fear stuck in my chest that I couldn't control. As if I felt that something was stalking me, something I didn't understand.-Oh..." I started to say, not knowing why I had done that.I remained silent, trying to sort out my thoughts. I thought for a moment that maybe I had gone crazy. That I had let hallucinations make me lose my mind. That was until I saw them come in.Goth came in pale as a sheet of paper. He watched me with fear. He walked without the confidence that had always characterized him. Then I knew something had happened. That's why I had felt that raw shiver.-What? -I asked, insisting. He walked away.I chased him,
I used the highest speed available to me. I got to where the attack was almost impossibly close. Karly was being attacked by a reddish colored wolf. I looked around, there was only one of them.I took aim, with the gun, staring through the sight. The wolf was moving too fast. I fired three times, without being able to hit or even wound it. It was as swift as a shadow, as if it were a slippery fox. With its fur it looked more like a fox than a wolf. It was a strange wolf.Billy stood there, bloodied. He was breathing hard. He was wounded.-He's beating us up. He's a new wolf. I don't know him. -He said, regrouping next to me. His face was grim, he was serious. I saw the fear shining in his eyes.We had to set up a defensive position to help Karly. The gunshots hadn't scared him either, or even thrown him off a bit. It was as if his mind was clear, he just had to kill us.I fired again, but Billy stopped me when I wanted to try again. He pointed to his guns.-I emptied all my guns, damn
SethI tried to get that damn side effect out of my head.-Weren't you going to relax, grumpy? -Karly asked, grabbing my arm with her suspicious gaze.I pushed her away.-No.-It's a side effect, don't worry. If we have fun tonight, no one will ever know. It'll be justified. -She winked, settling in next to me.-No." I shook my head, standing up. -If you're going to chase me, then I'll go far away so I can stop seeing your face.-How rude you are to the ladies. Is she..." he started to say, but stopped himself in time. -I'm sorry, I won't bother you anymore.-Go away now. -I blurted out, disdainfully.Billy was looking at me with his usual mocking face. I turned around to isolate myself from them.-You're made of steel. -He said, as he patted me on the shoulder.-I WANT TO BE ALONE. -I exclaimed, this time without any patience. For the first time in his life, Billy agreed. He left with Karly, both of them were chatting and laughing. They were probably making comments about how dumb I
LuviocI felt the earth beneath my wolf paws. I would never tire of this, of taking in the scent of the forest, even if this part was just training. I looked around at my surroundings, these borders were covered and protected from humans passing through. But still, feeling fully wolf was something I loved, it made me enormously happy. My connection to my wolf was strong, I felt more wolf than human. Because my brothers had human hobbies, they read, they played video games, they had other interests as kids. But me, I just wanted to fight all the time.To train, to train so hard that my paws would bleed. That my strength was almost extinct, pushing myself to the max was what tapped into my full potential. My uncle was waiting for me there. -Hello, Luvioc. -he greeted, kindly. This surprise training caught my attention. But I always liked to train, it was something I was passionate about. My mother didn't understand, she hadn't even wanted to let me come for a while. But she couldn't giv
