The stranger politely opened the door and invited me to sit down. I obeyed, crossing my arms to cover the stains on my clothes. I looked so ragged in this luxury that I was ashamed. My life was crazy, and I had no idea what I had even done before waking up on this street. Just this vision, this memory that was there and then disappeared again.
“Can you tell me your name now?” he asked, concentrating on driving.
“I don't know, it's the truth.” I answered, very shyly. I didn't want to be thought crazy, but I didn't know how to lie.
He looked at me confused, trying to guess what I was referring to. It was useless, my past was so uncertain. I wanted a name, I'd make it up myself if I had to.
“My name is Alyssa.” I said that was the name that appealed to me the most. “I like the sound of the name.”
“Me too, my name is Seth.” Said he in an imposing voice. “We're going to eat at a restaurant I know, I owe you one.”
I smiled, that's how warm he was to me. His manner was extremely seductive, he could captivate me with his deep eyes. Seth, that name wasn't familiar to me at all.
After walking about six streets, we arrived at a quaint bodega. The smell of pizza was everywhere, which whetted my appetite even more. I mustered up the courage to get out of the car next to him, even though I was a complete stranger.
I didn't know how to tell him that I didn't have a penny to pay for the meal. We found a table in the middle of the restaurant and were quickly served champagne. I found the taste to be sweet and pleasant.
People looked at me like I was the plague, probably because of my ragged clothes. I didn't care, I focused on the bread basket in front of me and quickly devoured it.
Seth watched me with a smile.
“I'll pass your compliment on to the cook.” He said jokingly, looking at me as if he could take off the clothes I was wearing. You look like a she-wolf, so insatiable is your appetite.
This gave me a strange feeling, and I startled, dropping my fork on the floor and then banging my arm against the glass so that it shattered into many pieces. I took a deep breath to calm down, because I didn't understand why this word had such an effect on me.
“I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by it.” he whispered, his eyes heavy with grief.
“You didn't, I just don't know what's wrong with me. I'm really crazy.” I said, trying to break the tension between us.
“Alyssa, you're not crazy. I understand you, sometimes I don't know what's wrong with me. It's a phase, a stage.” He said in a calm voice.
When they finally brought the pizza, the melted mozzarella made my smile last forever. The food tasted amazing, and because I was so hungry, everything tasted even better.
I didn't realize that I had eaten the whole pizza by myself, and by the time I went to apologize, it was too late.
“Oh, how rude of me not to leave a single slice.” I said anxiously, my cheeks flushed again.
A dizziness came over me and I got a severe headache. I rubbed my forehead to clear my head, but to no avail. I felt weaker and weaker, as if the energy in my body was being sucked out by something.
Seth smiled, his eyes fixed on me.
“I'm sorry, Omega.” He said with his perfect smile. Even at that moment, he didn't stop looking so good.
Fear made me scream to alert the people in the restaurant. But no matter how much they heard my screams, no one did anything to help me. Slowly I fell asleep and went into a trance.
Omega, that word echoed in my heart. The memory wouldn't come back, it was buried too deep in my subconscious. I managed to watch as Seth loaded me back into his car, as he greeted the patrons of the restaurant as if they were his old friends. I tried to fight tooth and nail to free myself, but my strength wasn't enough. I was kidnapped, it was obvious, there was nothing I could do to escape.
There was a very great helplessness, weariness fell upon my eyes.
“We were waiting for you, Lysa.” Seth began to say, while gently stroking my hair. -We knew that you would be the last Omega to be expelled from the wolf packs.
I did not answer, my lips seemed sealed and I had no strength left. I just listened to his words, his voice was so sweet, so pleasant. Even though he was raping me, I felt safe. That made me convince myself that I was completely naive and that now I could kill myself at my leisure without anyone looking for me.
“Your memory was wiped so you would not give away the wolves' secrets, I'll take you to others like you. The wolves have behaved terribly, have not they? They have robbed you of your wealth, of your ability to transform. Oh princess, I will let you see a new world.”
I smiled, because her angelic face hypnotized me. I felt that I was in love for the first time in my whole life. My heart galloped with a strong intensity, the butterflies in my stomach went crazy. He was going to take care of me, this strong and imposing man would protect me.
I quickly fell asleep in the soft, comfortable seat of his luxurious car. My dreams were completely dark, without images, as if my brain was completely blank. Seth said that my memory had been erased, so I could not even remember my name.
When I woke up, I found myself in a garden full of crystal clear ponds. The damp grass gave me a pleasant, cool feeling. He was there, beside me. When he saw that I had woken up, he took my hand in his and shook it.
“Is that you?” I asked, and my eyes lit up.
“Yes, I told you that you will never be alone again. I will take care of you.” he said and hugged me.
It was really the most beautiful hug I had ever experienced in my life. I felt free and at the same time cared for and safe. His physical contact was warm and mysterious. The feeling of his skin brushing against mine was extremely addictive.
Other people joined in and sat on the floor, as we did.
“We have been waiting for this moment, Seth.” said one of them, a young man with blond hair. “Lysa arrived. Don't you recognize me?” he asked me directly.
I had no idea who he was.
“You will regain your memory soon, Lysa.” Seth promised me and put his hand around my waist. He made me shiver at the slightest touch.
He stood up and spoke to everyone who had gathered, there were about thirty people. Many of them were in their twenties and forties. I did not know anyone, at least not that I could remember.
“The time has come to destroy the Alphas, my friends. -Seth began to say in a commanding voice. He was a born leader, I could see that from his imposing appearance. Anyone could even fall in love with him just by seeing him.” Come forward, the Omegas who have been expelled.
Ten of them came forward, they were recognizable to the naked eye as human beings. What happened next brought back part of my memory. They all began their deadly transformation. Dull, dry, lifeless fur on their backs. They were thin and no longer had sharp claws. The others, who must have been humans rather than wolves, looked strong, agile and skilled, just like Seth.
I had also been the weakest Omega. I did not forget the contemptuous looks of those I knew from my former life, the pity they all felt for the ugly she-wolf who could not even extend her claws.
“Oh, I remember.” I said with tears in my eyes. “I am a monster, a weak and clumsy monster.” I lamented, as I began to realize what had happened.
My family had to exclude me because the rules said so.
“You were all expelled from your lives because you were considered inferior. It is a great injustice to be left with no name, no assets, no identity. Thinking that they can do anything they want, they devour everyone who crosses their path, shedding innocent blood.”
Seth looked intently at everyone, his eyes piercing and sharp to the extreme. Despite my sorrow, I could not stop looking at him, he was so attractive, as if he was casting a spell on me to make me love him forever.
I did not want to turn, I did not want to be seen as this skinny creature with no strength, that would be a total humiliation. I watched in silence, with that cowardice and insecurity that characterized me. I was not ready to fight for anything, that had never worked for me.
“Seth, the hunt for the Alphas will begin in two days. They will know you kidnapped their Omega, and Goth will know this is a coup d'état” said another she-wolf, who was as pale as I was. “We have to stay in our lair until that happens.”
“They will pay for everything they have done to us in the past.” This was another wolf who was just as pale. He seemed to be blind in one eye.
The others present toasted me; their glasses full. Seth took me by the hand and led me to one of the ponds where we looked out at the clear water. I felt unsafe.
“I don't quite understand what's going on here.” I've been mumbling quietly so as not to ruin the festivities. “I'm so confused.”
“This is quite normal, my beautiful Lysa. I've been waiting for you for a long time, but I won't scare you. I want you to know the truth little by little so you won't get scared.” He smiled and put a hand on my shoulder.
I leaned my head against his chest, not knowing why I was so trusting of a complete stranger.
“Are you a wolf, Seth?” I asked, because I had this question in my head.
As I began to remember things from the past, my life among the wolves, I thought that he had chosen me as a mate. Something I thought would never happen because I was a weak and sickly wolf that everyone despised and thought was worse than scum.
“No” he replied with a smile, his perfect mouth twisted into a grimace that startled me for a few seconds. He kissed me on the forehead. “I'm a wolf hunter.”
Seth's words paralysed me with fear. Of course, I had often heard of them, the hunters who roamed to steal pelts and kill mercilessly. For wolves were a danger to be wary of. Fragments of information returned to my memory, I began to connect all the facts that I thought I had forgotten. Like a movie slowly taking shape. The coin, it seemed, did not work on me in its entirety. That was strange, because according to the traditions, there was no way back. But now it all seemed to make no sense. “Do not be afraid, I will not hunt you.” He said and put his hand around my waist. -You are not my target. At that moment I thought I saw blood running from his mouth, as if he was lying to me and the vision was meant to warn me. Running away would be pointless, I had nowhere to go, I was outcast by my own family. They would kill me if I tried to return, and I would not be safe in the human world either. “I am a wolf, Seth.” I blurted out, with a courage that came from the bottom of my heart. “
“Lysa...” he began to say as I lay back on my bed. We had done something incredible, he had a tremendous talent for giving me pleasure. He was the most attractive and strongest man I had ever seen in my life. Merging together was the most exciting act. I lost my virginity to him and I'd never regret it because his strength was immeasurable and his size was equally amazing. “I love you.” He finally said with his eyes shining as he looked at me. How could it be that he loved me even though we had known each other for such a short time? I didn't care, my heart felt connected to his for some strange reason, it was like we had known each other all our lives. I squeezed his hand in mine. “Can you tell me something? Remember to answer truthfully.” I said, not having put on any clothes yet. “Maybe I can, Lysa, but remember that we just met. I love you, I know that more than anything, but it's also hard to trust you.” “Me? I was quite offended by that statement. I rolled my eyes disapprov
Was it possible that this man really loved me? So little time had passed that I was sceptical. Seth had carried me in his arms after I had almost been run over and injured on the road. My brother could have killed me if he had a few more minutes. “Why did you do that?” I asked, my eyes watering and trembling with shock. “I told you, Lysa, that I'll always love you. You're the woman of my life.” Seth narrowed his eyes so tenderly. “I know it's hard to understand. But it's my truth, you know about the ranks and hierarchies of wolves, but you know nothing about us slayers.” That was the last thing he said before leading me back to his house where I'd be safe from my brother. Although my eyes were tired, I could see that this place had changed a lot. The men at the entrance carried large calibre weapons with which they fervently guarded the door. The murderous looks possessed an indescribable power; they had to be the other hunters. I noticed that their eyes were a mysterious amber colo
“Lysa?” asked one of the Omegas he had seen, it was not the same one from the room who had turned golden. It was another one of them, his name was Kalte, if he remembered correctly. In his human form he was tall and slender, with a prominent nose and thin cheeks. Although I did not feel like talking to anyone, I tried to smile. I did not want to make enemies; after all, it was crazy to think I was a protégé. I had to take care of myself, especially after my brother's attack. Something was not right, that wolf had changed shape, and even though I did not know if he was dangerous, my instincts told me that things were not good or normal. “I can see that you are a little scared. I know what happened to your brother.” He said and invited me to sit on the chair in that hallway. It was a tea set for the living room. Kalte waved a passerby over and asked him to bring tea for both of us. It felt good to have something warm to drink after the busy day I had had. It seemed like the emotions w
I could not believe that the causes of our suffering were due to a cruel experiment. The worst thing was that it was just the work of a manipulator who was willing to sacrifice someone from his own family. I wanted to cry, to scream, to throw objects in the air out of anger, because what I was reading was horrible. My life had been so complicated and drawn out because someone else had wanted it that way. I had suffered so much as a wolf; I was so sickly... I thought for so long that this was my problem. -I thought it was my problem for so long, I thought it was my problem for so long. -Said Kalte, his eyes fixed on me. “It's a bad joke, a tragedy.” I said and sobbed. I could not stop the tears from coming. “Wolves are intelligent creatures, far too intelligent. In this world, nothing is random, so they make sure that their hierarchies remain intact.” Said Kalte patiently. Now it all made sense to me, when for so long I had believed that my life was so bad through my own fault, beca
I marvelled at these beautiful puppies, my heart beating fast with joy. I felt a connection as soon as I saw them. There were four little puppies, they must have been almost newborns, huddled together for protection from the cold. One of them was jet black, one was light brown and the other two were brownish red. They were beautiful, I held the black one in my arms and cradled him. He looked at me with bright eyes. “Where did these boys come from?” Seth asked, surveying the people outside. One of the men answered with a shrug. “I've no idea, Seth. I'm as surprised as you're... I didn't see them, no one approached. Whoever it was must have been very fast.” He answered, stuttering. “A wolf. -Seth said, eyeing the pups suspiciously.” Why would he abandon his children? “I don't know, but I don't think it's a good idea to keep them. Maybe it's a trap, they should be taken away.” said the man, if I remember correctly, his name was Tom. “What?” I asked, horrified. “They are just helple
Seth had agreed to raise these little ones, I was really surprised. My joy was very great. Until the last minute I thought he wouldn't do it, after all he was a hunter and adopting wolf pups wasn't right for him. The days passed and he seemed more and more attached to the pups. He was a good father, I knew that. His thirst for revenge would never overshadow his love for me. We were meant to be together. But something inside me told me they needed to be with me.I had a vision, again the voice of my beautiful mother. She told me that she missed me, that she was waiting for me.The pain, the fact that her voice was in the air, made me feel a terrible longing.I sighed sadly, knowing I'd never see her again. It was so hard to have to choose between my mother and sister and the love of my life.I walked around the mansion with my puppies, looking for some peace and quiet. It wasn't good for me to be so stressed. Seth continued with his plan to strengthen the Omegas. That would be too much
The branch fell on my body, causing my transformation to disappear. I remained in my human form, bruised and battered. Breathing was difficult as the trunk crushed me. She smiled; her fur covered in blood.“You do not seem very smart” she said and laughed. “You fell into a very simple trap.”-Are you going to kill me? Why don't you break up with me quickly...” I began to say, annoyed that she was making fun of me.The Omegas learned to accept death when they were puppies. Because they did not stand a chance if an Alpha or a Beta opposed them, because we had zero ability to fight. I tried hard not to show him fear, I was not going to beg him to let me live.Another person approached me. She had hidden in the trees, I could not smell her scent. Its presence made my blood run cold, it created a great, incomprehensible fear in me. I tried to breathe again, but I coughed blood into my side again. I could not get the branch off, it was so heavy. The bark hurt on my skin, the bumps and scrat
GothAt last I had everything I wanted. I uncorked a new champagne for the occasion, toasting only to my triumph. Because it was so satisfying to have things go my way. It was spectacular.-Won't he be suspicious? -my brother asked.-Who? -I asked, annoyed that he would walk in on this moment of celebration.I was so happy that I wouldn't let anyone or anything ruin this moment. I drank from my glass.-The boy.-Luvioc already felt what it's like to kill the first person. Right?-Yes, but...-Do you remember that feeling? As a wolf, the most exciting feeling is hunting prey. All your siblings will be like that, I'm sure. Because I'll take care of raising them to be real wolves.-And haven't you thought about it, if any of them won't miss their mother?-They won't. Because she's crazy, always has been.-Why do you say that?-People believe what you tell them, what I say. But they will believe what Luvioc tells them. His brothers will know that Luvioc had to kill that hunter to protect
SethWalking away from that forest was like taking a part of my body, as if a part of my heart had been removed. Every time I looked at some of my hunting gear, I remembered Billy. I had decided to leave even though everyone wanted to stop me, even though I knew that if I left, everyone would leave.Because I didn't care anymore, I was totally hopeless in the war. My heart felt frozen, broken. Lysa, my memories were becoming a blur.I was becoming a shadow belonging to the forest. I just wanted to get away. But the damned witch was following in my footsteps and I knew it well. She was obsessed with me.-Don't you have anything better to do? -I asked, with growing annoyance. At least the anger covered a little of the deep depression.-I didn't imagine you were such a crybaby. -She said, in her sinister, dismissive tone of voice. She appeared before me, still as a hooded figure. She was cadaverous, the moonlight making her look even thinner, paler. Her robe was black and purple, somewha
LysaI was drowsy, but that didn't stop me from starting to crawl on the floor looking for a way to get out of that damn room. The walls began to change color as my eyes grew tired. They went from intense greens to dull light blue. Then, orange took over, to red and then, to an immaculate white.I felt my heart beating. It was a sound that was accelerating as I regained consciousness.I snapped my eyes open after closing them and my head hit the floor. It was a thundering sound that jolted me awake.-I wondered when the sleeping pill would wear off. Looks like you haven't slept well in a long time.I tried to get up to run away. I fell to the ground, I had the shackles around my feet. They prevented me from going very far. Meters before the door I was already on my knees on the ground.Goth was watching me stealthily, a smug smile on his face. He was enjoying every minute he had me locked up here.-Revenge is the most delicious dish of all. -He smiled, humming a song, having fun.He l
NarratorThe young wolf was inexperienced, when he was wounded for the first time, his most spontaneous reaction was to run away to return to his pack immediately. Luvioc was soaked by the falling water, the rain was torrential. However, he was euphoric, he felt the applause surrounding him for his victory. Even though almost no one had seen him win, he knew that his triumph had been epic.He was proud of himself, that could be a feeling that crushed the fear of being hurt. Still, he wanted to go back. Blood stained his fur slightly, it had been a shallow wound. A scratch for an adult wolf, something unimportant. He spotted a presence and smelled Goth's scent up ahead. She was waiting for him before the building in which they lived. The first thing Luvioc wanted to do was to tell his brothers everything that had happened, in detail. That would impress them, leave them speechless.-She's upset. -Goth said, looking at him sternly. -I'm very sorry.Luvioc did not understand what was happ
Seth-I will allow you to speak even at this moment, even when I know perfectly well that you escaped. -I said, looking at her suspiciously.I could not trust her. The witch looked particularly bad, with dark circles under her eyes, and a hundred percent haggard.-Darling. I told you this would happen. Oh, you look more handsome when you're so distraught.-Shut up! -I knocked on the wood of one of the trees.Fuck, my best friend was dead. I felt a tear run down my cheek. Karly was badly wounded, she had only just regained a little more strength.-We have to make them pay. We will do anything. -She said to the witch.I was speechless at what she was asking. Because that request was drastic and the enemies... were my family. I swallowed, nervous. The mixture of anguish, anger and impotence left me speechless, naked in the face of uncertainty.-There are ways to even the playing field. I have a little spell. You know my dear, I have not been asked for things in a good way. -she winked.T
LysaI had been trying to get the image of that man out of my head, that mysterious hunter reigning in my thoughts. It was as if I could see him.Suddenly, I let go of the cup in my hands, which crashed into a thousand pieces. The glass shattered and the sound made my skin crawl. I had had a feeling, an intuition. I couldn't even look out the window, I had a fear stuck in my chest that I couldn't control. As if I felt that something was stalking me, something I didn't understand.-Oh..." I started to say, not knowing why I had done that.I remained silent, trying to sort out my thoughts. I thought for a moment that maybe I had gone crazy. That I had let hallucinations make me lose my mind. That was until I saw them come in.Goth came in pale as a sheet of paper. He watched me with fear. He walked without the confidence that had always characterized him. Then I knew something had happened. That's why I had felt that raw shiver.-What? -I asked, insisting. He walked away.I chased him,
I used the highest speed available to me. I got to where the attack was almost impossibly close. Karly was being attacked by a reddish colored wolf. I looked around, there was only one of them.I took aim, with the gun, staring through the sight. The wolf was moving too fast. I fired three times, without being able to hit or even wound it. It was as swift as a shadow, as if it were a slippery fox. With its fur it looked more like a fox than a wolf. It was a strange wolf.Billy stood there, bloodied. He was breathing hard. He was wounded.-He's beating us up. He's a new wolf. I don't know him. -He said, regrouping next to me. His face was grim, he was serious. I saw the fear shining in his eyes.We had to set up a defensive position to help Karly. The gunshots hadn't scared him either, or even thrown him off a bit. It was as if his mind was clear, he just had to kill us.I fired again, but Billy stopped me when I wanted to try again. He pointed to his guns.-I emptied all my guns, damn
SethI tried to get that damn side effect out of my head.-Weren't you going to relax, grumpy? -Karly asked, grabbing my arm with her suspicious gaze.I pushed her away.-No.-It's a side effect, don't worry. If we have fun tonight, no one will ever know. It'll be justified. -She winked, settling in next to me.-No." I shook my head, standing up. -If you're going to chase me, then I'll go far away so I can stop seeing your face.-How rude you are to the ladies. Is she..." he started to say, but stopped himself in time. -I'm sorry, I won't bother you anymore.-Go away now. -I blurted out, disdainfully.Billy was looking at me with his usual mocking face. I turned around to isolate myself from them.-You're made of steel. -He said, as he patted me on the shoulder.-I WANT TO BE ALONE. -I exclaimed, this time without any patience. For the first time in his life, Billy agreed. He left with Karly, both of them were chatting and laughing. They were probably making comments about how dumb I
LuviocI felt the earth beneath my wolf paws. I would never tire of this, of taking in the scent of the forest, even if this part was just training. I looked around at my surroundings, these borders were covered and protected from humans passing through. But still, feeling fully wolf was something I loved, it made me enormously happy. My connection to my wolf was strong, I felt more wolf than human. Because my brothers had human hobbies, they read, they played video games, they had other interests as kids. But me, I just wanted to fight all the time.To train, to train so hard that my paws would bleed. That my strength was almost extinct, pushing myself to the max was what tapped into my full potential. My uncle was waiting for me there. -Hello, Luvioc. -he greeted, kindly. This surprise training caught my attention. But I always liked to train, it was something I was passionate about. My mother didn't understand, she hadn't even wanted to let me come for a while. But she couldn't giv
