“NO THIS CAN’T BE” Akira cried out loud not convinced that Sachiko is gone.

“We already searched the whole area and we didn’t find her also her scent already vanished the rain washed off the scent” One of the fighters reported.

Some rogues attacked us again and Sachiko is one of those who fight for the safety of this pack. Despite being a human she gained the high place of a fighter for a pack, she has these incredible fighting skills which made me admire her but then I can’t accept the fact that she is my mate, and hearing this news makes my heart pound broken. Rogues had their eyes in our pack for some reason that they attacked us numerous times, we have lots of fighters to fight but these attackers keep on going to Sachiko a human fighter.

“She is just here not long time passed how can she disappear that fast?” Jen wondered.

“Also I noticed that something is wrong with her. She’s not her usual self when fighting, seems like something is bothering her she’s not feeling well” Jen continued. What would bother her? Could it be that? But that is nothing for a human-like her since she can’t feel what it feels to deal with the pain besides she accepted the rejection yesterday without any hesitation.

“She’s been out of herself since yesterday because of something. She can’t even remember how did she get home” Akira explained still crying. 

“What bothers her that made her not concentrate fighting?” Jen protested.

“No one knows those rogues would attack again. Yesterday she’s asking about the mate bond since someone told her that she is his mate though she’s unfamiliar with it. She only relies on what she knows, her mate rejected her and she accepted it without any hesitation since she doesn’t know about it”  Scar explained that made my heart stop beating for a while. Did she tell them what happened yesterday?

“Any news?” Dad suddenly appeared asking about Sachiko. 

“No traces left” Kit answered. I can see the frustration in my father's face as he massages his temple. Everyone is concerned about Sachiko's disappearance since she is the highest rank fighter and a leader, she is also a friendly girl and they admire her. 

“What happened?” Dad seriously asked.

“No one knows what happened while ago we only noticed that she’s already gone even her scent faded” Jen explained.

“I heard what you said Scar, what mate are you saying and who” I gulped hearing the word. Fear starts to flood me as my heartbeats start to race like a marathon, did she? she didn't tell them, right?

“She came home yesterday spacing out she even ask how did she end up home. Then she ask about the mate bond and she said someone told her she is his mate but her mate rejected her and she accepted it without any hesitation. We asked who but she didn’t say any about who is this mate of hers I don’t want to think that it is the reason she couldn’t concentrate. Above that, she’s speaking nonsense yesterday like she’s trying to say something but she said nothing”

“Reason why did this mate of hers reject her?” I want to leave but my own feet won’t move to their place. I wanted to shout enough but my lips are sealed.

“The mere fact that she is a human you think a werewolf would accept getting mated to a human?” Scar sarcastically asked.

“Getting mated to a human isn’t a problem. Sachiko has something unique in her, the fact that she’s a human isn’t a reason to reject a human mate. Have you ever heard the story of this strong alpha who mated to a human? Regardless of being human he still accepted her and treated her with fair treatment. We can’t predict to whom we will be mated either werewolf, human, vampire, or what race” I kept my mouth shut since I’m not feeling well hearing this thing.

"What happened already happened she's not here anymore," Akira said sobbing.

"But at least I should talk to this boy" no way dad. What if he found out it was his son that rejected her?

"Thank you for the concern but it is Sachiko's wish to leave it where it happened. We also wanted to know but we respect her decision" Scar said.

“MR. MILES COME AND HAVE A LOOK AT THIS” our attention ended to Keren who shouted. Dad immediately rushed to her place that made us follow. Different races of birds were swooping around the forbidden woods but owls and ravens is on the lead.

“What is this?” I mouthed but didn’t expect to ask it out loud.

“SACHIKO?” Scar suddenly shouted that made us confused and look at him since we can’t see any shadow of Sachiko.

“Scar?” Keren called her brother who started to walk towards the woods.

“I need to find Sachiko,” he said as he turn his back to face us.

"How? Don't enter that area" she warned but her brother shook his head.

"I can't leave her there" how can he be so sure that she is inside that woods?

“No one is in there” she opposed.

“But her scent is here” my forehead creased looking at him as I peek a glance towards Akira staring at him. How can he say those? I can’t even smell her scent but he can? What the heck is this means? Is there something I don't know between them? Do they--? No Sachiko isn't like that and so Scar.

“There’s an only flood of blood not a shadow of any person,” Keren said.

“Where?” Scar

“Four steps away from that tree on your left” Scar went to the tree which is the nearest tree or should I say one of the trees that set as a border.

“Akira?” out of curiosity I walk forward to where Scar is standing. Akira loss her balance as she saw the blood.

“No--- Sachiko” she started crying again sitting on the ground. What is it? Just blood but they act like it is a person's body and Sachiko's.

“The scent I smelled came from this flood of blood” Scar explained as his eyes started to drop some liquids clenching his fist.

“I-it’s Sachiko’s b-blood” Akira murmured enough for us to hear. The pain inside my chest starts to rise, how? Sachiko is gone? Is that hers? It can't be, this is worst than rejecting her.

Images of her start to play, the way she smiled and laugh around. Her sarcastic actions and mannerisms, her playful attitude that you can’t understand.

      “’ Ralf what if one day I suddenly disappear would you look for me?”’ 

Her question when we were still young came to my memories. Before I found out that she is my mate we were friends, we both sneak and run away from my trainer just to play until we grow old she’s still the playful girl. She still plays with me but dangerously, we play with swords and knives fighting each other until last year we accidentally put each other’s lives in danger. We had a small fight and ended fighting each other which we wounded each other severely. She apologized and said it is her fault and got punished while I only got scolded. But, my mother’s words hurt me that I hated Sachiko and starts to look down on her.

    “’ Are you stupid? Despite her being human she’s still smart and strong as a fighter, you can’t even reach her level as a good fighter. What if she killed you there? Stop hanging out with that human she can’t do you good in any way. You are a son of alpha and you are hanging out with a human”’

My mother always keeps on saying those every time she saw me with her. It hurts mom, every you say those words hurt me and now I lose her. I lose my friend and my mate.

“What is the meaning of this?” Dad asked which made me snap back to our current situation.

“Those are mourning actions. They are mourning if a higher class race dies” sir Halifas, my father’s beta answered.

We all step back as the birds start to fly down towards the blood. One at a time they step on the blood flop theirs wings wiping the blood with their wings and fly up again swooping away from the woods. All the drops of blood were gone now, those birds cleaned it with their wings.

“Whoever owns the blood might be the reason those birds appeared swooping around mourning for its death” sir Halifas said. 

“Sachiko is dead?” Kit reacted.

“Sachiko?” sir Halifas asked facing Kit.

“It’s Sachiko’s blood” Scar responded.

“Then this only means she isn’t that kind of a simple human. Akira did you or have you seen any weird actions, attitude, or whatever weird against your sister?” he asked but Akira objected answering the question. This man studies everything that interests him so maybe he read about this kind of thing and knows about it.

“Sachiko’s name will be included in the list of who we lose today” dad announced.

Everyone started to leave the place but my feet won’t bother to budge or what like it was already rooted in its place. All of a sudden she’s gone, 24hrs hasn’t passed yet since we argued yesterday about the mate bond and now she’s gone. I hope I’m just dreaming and imagining things which I had never hoped before, imagining never approved me before. I only feel my feet move when someone grabbed me.

“Planning to stand here forever?” Kit asked the one who grabbed me. “Your action and reactions show regret and your regrets won’t bring her back. Your hatred and arguments were caused by your mother sorry for the words but it's true. You have been good friends since then before us but the distance between the two of you went too wide. After the announcement some will rejoice since the human who lives in the werewolf pack is gone” he added. Not all wolves in the pack admire her some hate her too.

“I regret nothing” I mumbled. Don’t I? Who knows. You lying jerk you have already broken your own heart just now then said you regret nothing tsk.

Hours passed the darkness arrived yet I’m still lying awake in my bed rolling right and left until I decided to go outside my room and went back into the woods. I searched around the tree near the spot we saw the blood and found a necklace,  dark blue nylon lace, and a small round silver plate stained with blood was visible in the nylon lace. This is Sachiko’s, does this mean the blood belongs to her? The scent is something unfamiliar and familiar, two scents were mixed up in the nylon lace Sachiko’s scent and—could it be the person who killed her? Fist clasped tightly as I greeted my teeth thinking how she was killed. This necklace won’t fall from her neck easily unless a blade were around her neck that cut the lace. 

Water starts to drip from my eyes, this is my fault. If only I didn't tell her that thing yesterday then she's still here. I loved her for who she is, my love for her ever since we are still young was hidden until I started to hate her but no matter how I hate my love wins. I already love her before I found out that she is my mate, every word came from my mouth yesterday I wanted to take them back but I don't want her to become my mate. This is my fault and mom, if only she didn't criticize her telling me those hatred words then this won't happen, look what happened mom I lose my everything, in anger I shifted to my wolf form and growled under the half-moon, forgive me and this is my goodbye to you.
