Chapter 97

Heather POV

“The women talked to you about us not being alone, right?” Reed started.

“Yes, and I agree with them. Is that what the problem is? Don't you agree? Or is it because we can’t do anything? You want nothing to do with me?” I felt the tears start to well in my eyes. I’m not going to let them see me cry. It will just give them another reason to not want me.

“That is not it at all, Heather we care for you a lot." Reed says taking my hand gently in his.

"We told you even if we are not mates we don’t want to lose your friendship.” Lucas said, a little panicked, taking my other hand.

“Then what is it? Tell me now.”

The two of them take the next ten minutes stumbling over their words until they finally tell me what they let Sophie do to them in the woods. Sophie of all people. At the end, Reed tightened his hold on my hand. “We wanted to be the ones to tell you. We didn’t want you to hear it from her because she would try and rub it in your face. She won’t keep her mouth shut.”
